If you want to be a bird owner, please:
  • Keep them in groups. Birds are very sociable. Never have less than two. For more on how an only-bird is a lonely bird: http://www.petstation.com/only-bird.html
  • Give them a large cage and a safe, spacious area outside of the cage to play in with both shade and sunlight.
  • Give them various toys (make sure they're safe), twigs, and natural perches of different sizes and shapes.
  • Give them a daily dish of water for bathing. Hee, hee ... don't they just make such a mess when having a bath? :)
  • Give them not only seed and millet, but also greens and fruits.
