| Reply sent December 15, 2002: Amanda-- I wanted you to know that I make an effort to answer every e-mail I get, no matter how long it takes me. So you need help finding a weird ritual from a non-christian religion, huh? Have you tried talking to Justin about this? He has taken World Religions, so he might be able to help you out. One religion you might check out, however, is Jainism. These people are absolute pacafist. They're all vegetarians and are forbidden from being butchers and farmers (because they might hurt worms while tilling the ground) along w/ anything else that might harm something. Or you could check out the Snake Handling ministries some of the Pentecostal churches do. I realize that they are a Christian church, but it is a wierd ritual none the less. Anyway, I hope this helps with that ten page paper. Maybe these ideas will give you someplace to start. Whatever happens, let me know how the paper turns out. I hope your professor doesn't mind you turning it in almost 2 years late. --Joshua-- |
