You may begin to work on this award when you become a Cadette Girl Scout. All work must be completed while you are a Cadette Girl Scout. The Silver Award Planner must be delivered to your Silver Consultant by September 30, 10:00pm, of the year you enter the 10th grade or register as a Senior Girl Scout.
There are five requirements for this award. You should work closely with your leaders in the completion of all the requirements. The first four requirements call upon you to build your skills, explore career possibilities, increase your leadership skills, and make a commitment to improving yourself. You may not use one activity to earn credit in more than one area. Refer to page 135 in your Cadette Girl Scout Handbook.
The first four requirements may be done in that order, but must be completed before you work on the fifth requirement, the Girl Scout Silver Award Project. Please discuss your project with your leader before beginning.
If you will be doing a money earning project as part of your Silver Award, you must completed the Fundraising Approval Form (SG53). Talk to your leader to complete this form.
The program planner for the Silver Award should be used to record your completed work. Your Silver Award Consultant will ask to see this planner and all supporting documents when your work is complete. |
