A Day to Remember May 3, 2003
Almost 4 and 1/2 years had passed since I fell in love with Animal. We were engaged on May 31, 2002. After being told repeatedly we would be getting married "In the spring" I took charge and told him he could either HELP with the planning, or get an invitation. Much to my relief he agreed it was time to make make our feelings official. With the help of friends I was able to have a wedding day I could only dream of. On May 3, 2003 we gathered family and friends to celebrate the next chapter in our lives together. We were married at beutiful Sancurary on the Hill. Below you will find a few pictures. It was a Medieval Mongolian wedding for the groom and myself. We were gifted with the honor of handmade costumes. The guests came adorned in Celtic, Russian, or other period garb. We we lucky enough to hold the festivities on one of the only sunny days spring in Maryland had to offer. I can honestly say that walking down the aisle on my father's arm I looked up to see the man of my dreams, looking fine, handsome and proud. I felt like a princess and he makes me feel that way each day. DAMN i'm a lucky girl!
Sonnet 17 I do not love you as if you were salt-rose or topaz, or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off. I love you as certain things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul. I love you as the plant that never blooms, but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers. Thanks to your love a certain fragrance, risen darkly from the earth, lives darkly in my body. I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where, I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride, so I love you because I know no other way than this: where "I" does not exist, nor "you," So close that your hand on my chest is my hand, So close that your eyes close and I fall asleep. - Pablo Neruda
