Not Found In A Police Report
They chalk me to the sidewalk
In marks of white and black
And this outline in the alley
Reminds me of laying in the grass

And the love I felt for you that day
Burned heart shaped scars into the sand
And the beaches were next to ancient seas
To which I had never been

And the grass on which I laid
Has memories of my tears
And the sand blows back and forth
In the wind that carves the years

Wind, carry me home
To warmer months than these
And steal back my heart-scars
From the bigots and the thieves

My blood doesn't water the
Pavement
And rain sweeps my dust from the
Street
As drainage ditches carry me away
From this jungle
To ancient seas
Which will always remember me
