Blind
I stood, silently, searching
for reality,
in my world of cardboard people,
and their cardboard hellos.
I wanted to run,
run from all the people,
the fairy tale people who pretended to care.
Run like a shooting star but faster,
and the stars would fall, exhausted,
the pattering of my feet echoing through the night.
But I couldnt run, I couldnt move.
My legs were lead weights.
So I screamed,
screamed,
until the rancid mist choked my lungs.
I tried to open my eyes, but couldnt.
It stayed black.
It all stayed black in my world,
My world of cardboard people.
