Leroy K. Leffler, 78, of 26 Tanner St., Mt. Aetna, died of natural causes Monday, January 31, 2000, in the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Reba A. Shultz Leffler, to whom he was married 54 years.

Born March 2, 1921, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania U.S.A. He was the son of the late Paul L. and Deborah King Leffler. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a retired welder for the Bethlehem Steel Corp., with 34 years of service. He also served as Tulpehocken Township Supervisor from 1985 to 1993 and was employed part-time by the township from 1993 until June 1999.

He was a member of Frieden Evangelical Lutheran Church in Myerstown, Mt. Aetna Lions Club, Retired Steelworkers, Myerstown VFW, Democratic Club of Reading, and the Mt. Aetna and Mt. Zion fire companies.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Roberta Massar, Lebanon; a sister, Ruth Zechman of Florida; a brother, Kenneth Leffler, Jonestown; a grandson, Scott M. Massar; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul L. Leffler Jr., who was killed in combat on Feb. 15, 1945.


Sevices were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday Feb. 4, 2000 at Christman's Funeral Home, 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon, preceded by a viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m.

He now lies in Mt. Hope Cemetary, Myerstown, Pennsylvania U.S.A.
