After the service, in which Patrick _____
[Mitchell] spoke about the many different (often wrong) ways that people perceive Jesus, we all went to the dining hall to play a game called Table Quizzes.  Six people per table, and there were 20-some teams, and each table had to answer questions in rounds of 6, and there were 10 rounds plus 2 bonus ones.  You just add up each team's points based on how many trivia questions they answer right, and most points wins.  It was really fun.  And Daniel sat across from me at my table.  :-)  Linda Basdeo and Cillian were there too.  I did fairly well at helping out the group - and there was a Harry Potter question I jumped all over!  :-)  Mwa ha ha...
I ended up doing the second bonus round too, cuz my team was doing well enough to get into it.  No one else wanted to go up and wolf down a Happy Meal, not even Daniel, whom the rest were urging.  They were calling for us to send someone, and finally I was just like, "All right - someone has to do this here!"  So I went over there and sat in one of the chairs by the food, with the crowd of excited kids just swarming in and pressing against me.  I was, of course, rather nervous that everyone was watching.  And THEN...
Oh-ho-ho.  Then the people running the game pulled out a BLENDER and put the Happy Meals in there together!  Fries (chips), burger, and Coke.  Yikes!  We had to drink
that down - those tricksy people!!  I was starting to regret volunteering and hoping my stomach would be all right.
So... I did it.  I braved it.  Didn't win, though.  Dang, this one guy gulped it down in 2 seconds!  How the heck did he do that??  My mouth and throat aren't big enough to do that.  Anyway... the stuff wasn't as nasty as I'd expected.  That helped me take it, cuz I was relieved that it wasn't any worse.  They declared the winner, and I was bummed, but then while the other 2 competitors were spitting in a big bowl, something came over me (insanity? stubbornness? defiance?) and I took another big gulp of the stuff.  The kids were going crazy - "Eeew!  Does it taste horrible?  Do you actually like it?" - and I shrugged.  "Not bad, it's really not that bad."  Paul, one of the teens' leaders, who'd blended the stuff, laughed at my spirit and said he'd give me 5 points for that spunk.  (The winner got 10.)  That spurred me on to further temerity, and I took another gulp.  "Will you give me 10 points for that?"  Pushing it.  Ha ha.  (Hopefully not too far...)  But Paul said, "Okay!  Wow - go you" or something like that.
I went back to my table feeling triumphant.  I told them that Paul was giving us 10 pts., and high-fived Cillian.  I plopped back down in my seat to the praise of Linda and the other adults, and Daniel and I grinned at each other across the table.
Despite my valiant effort, though, my group didn't win.  There was a tie that had to be broken for first, and I think my team was third.  Not bad.
After that, we had supper (tea and biscuits).  Then I stood around chatting with various different people in various different places for the rest of the night.  Came up to the bedroom a while after midnight, then decided to take a shower tonight so I could get ready quickly in the morning.  And so I could avoid anyone else being in there.  The bathroom here for the ladies has 2 toilet stalls and then 2 showers together at the back.  With no barriers to keep anyone from seeing you naked if they are past the toilet stalls.  Ugh.  I
don't like that.  So I'm determined to shower at night when no one else is around.  (Many girls were already asleep but some weren't.)  Plus, that pretty much guarantees me plenty of hot water, since most shower in the morning.
I totally need to get to bed now.
