Ovoca Manor       12:56 p.m.

Just got done with my first full Green team session.  It started a little after 10:00, after breakfast and a small praise session for everyone.  (I slept through breakfast and was late for the praise time.  Ugh, it was extremely hard to get up this morning.  Must get to bed earlier - and not write so much in here so late!
I forgot to bring my camera down this morning, so I didn't get any pictures of my kids doing stuff yet.  Darn.  We will meet again this evening, though, so I
must remember to tote it around with me.
First we met in our room, and we just discussed a few things before going over to the sports hall to play games.  I observed a couple of games that I hadn't seen played before, like Mad Cow (which is so silly!) and Unihoc.  After those organized games, the kids either sat around or played football (soccer) or threw a basketball around.
After an hour we went back to the manor, and the kids put their handprints and footprints on our banner.  The hands were green and yellow tree leaves above the trunk we'd already painted, and the feet were grass and flowers around the base of the tree.  I put one handprint on, myself.  Let me tell you - those kids are wild things.  Seriously.  Whoa.  (Thank goodness there's no more than 13 of them.)  Most of them are just energized and not causing real trouble, but some of the boys are pushing it.  One boy, Ruhan, is the stubborn one who refuses to participate, and he even ran out of the gym at one point and had to be retrieved.  Oy, that kid.  His mum came, and she took him for a while, saying he hadn't got much sleep the night before, cuz his baby sister was crying so much.  I think Ruhan went for a nap, and he came back a while later before we had finished.
After the kids had washed the paint off themselves (or mostly) we went back into the room.  Well, I took the kids there, but Shaz and Joanne stayed outside for a while to clean up the mess.  When I was the only leader w/ them for a while, I was like, "Uh-oh... what am I supposed to do with them?"  I tried to get them to start a game, and finally they started playing "I Spy."  Then some rowdy boys came in with balloon swords, and the kids all wanted to run and get one, and they were being pretty chaotic, and I didn't know what to do.  Yikes!  I was desperately wishing for the other leaders to come back.
Finally Shaz and Joanne came back and took charge.  They played some games with the kids and gave a little intro to the fruit of the Spirit.  We had snacks too.
And that is all I wrote in my journal that day.  But I do have some pictures to show you all what happened later that day.  So, here ya go....
