Hurricane Jeanne
Remembered to take my camera while trekking across campus during Jeanne, although it got kinda wet. I have a problem keeping my electrical acessories dry, what can I say. Hard to impress the strength of the wind in a picture, and every time I remembered to switch over to video, the wind died down. Oh well. It was windy, trust me.
2 AM, the apartment up and right of ours threw a party during the curfew. Fireworks and everything. Yeah. Trish eventually called the police, who grugingly responded right as the last HUGE explosion went off. Spotlight, questioning, confiscation, et cetera. Fun, fun.
Morning after, looking for damage. Not too many trees down, and the ones that were, they mostly cleaned up before I got out there with my camera. Not many power lines out (we lost power for a grand total of maybe an hour). DID find the remnants of the fireworks, although not the broken glass from the car that they hit.

'Super Doppler is predicting strong weather patterns...'

You mean people are WORKING in this storm?

Check out the angle on that tree

And those trees...

I guess they forgot to take those in...

I'm only slightly exaggerating the strength of the wind... gusts WERE knocking me off my feet.
Firework Incident

Yay, the cops came and the quiet started!

They wouldn't let the cops in. I think the spotlight tipped them off.

Who sets explosives off from their balcony in a hurricane? That's right, folks. Stupid People.
Aftermath and Cleanup

We rescued the poor globe from that lamp. Those things SUFFER during these hurricane things.

Yay! Responding to an emergency! At a frat house... no, no fire. Just the aftermath from a hurricane party.

Live Oaks are dangerous.

Bulls-eye

That is a big branch, 6 inches from their porch. Right across the street, near where the fireworks hit the car.
Oh, and they don't have power. We got lucky.

Cleaning up the day after.

Poor fence... It put a nail through my sandal, though. Bad fence.

Missed the glass door, though.
