RASPATUL REVIEW AT NO MORE ROOM IN HELL WEBZINE (UK)

Raspatul!

Coming straight out of what you would call a metal wilderness, Raspatul hail from the Far East country of Singapore.

In a country where time and resources for the metal genre are sparse, Raspatul still manage to concoct a delightful feast of heavy goodness, never more so evident than in opening track " The Perfect Realm Of Jharkyannarkh", a fast frantic blow after blow song with raw vocals and gripping thrash metal riff-age!

"Scraped Torn Flesh" has a much more rolling riff quality as well as being high paced and executed with a great deal of competence and flair. Some amazing solo's penetrate the middle of the track as harsh vocals roar throughout!

Raspatul are pure unadulterated thrash! "Menghitung Ajal" incorporates everything that is good about the bands, the rolling riffs, the raw vocals and the sledgehammer like tact in which the music is conveyed.

"A.O.D" is probably the most accessible song of the demo. It's not lighter, just catchier in places and has a real speedy quality to it. Not only that but the middle part is pure grinding doom goodness, a characteristic I always enjoy.

To finish us off, Raspatul bring you "Unholy" with a quality intro and an obviously well thought out sound! This track is a lot more doom like than its predecessors and brings the pace down to a slow yet appealing grind! Very early Anathema like. (See Anathema's "Silent Enigma" album for style comparison) The tempo does pick up and reverts back to a very thrash metal style, showing the bands diversity even within songs

Raspatul have worked hard on their sound and are a band to be checked out and taken very seriously. Coming from hell and back, they earn 7 very bloody zombies out of 10.
