- Well I would have to say 2 things, the first would be getting signed to Obskure Sombre Records. I got a Raspatul tattoo on the day that Raspatul got signed and it's really a dream come true for a band coming from Singapore to get a foreign label interested. The other one would be a gig that we did in 2003 that we never expected to be awesome. It was a very small place and initially, we didn't feel very comfortable for the fact that it was kind of like a last minute gig for us. But the crowd was really unbelievable and when we started playing, the crowd turned rabid and was all over the place, and they even tore down a piece of the ceiling in the middle of our set. The place was so small that we didn't even have space to move an inch, but the crowd interaction was excellent. It was smelly and sweaty, but it is definitely the best highlight of Raspatul's live shows.
6. How did your bands name become to be? Who came up with the name? What
inspired it?
- The band name Raspatul actually came from a recording engineer and his name is Leonard Soosay that we knew many years ago, the band was still very young back then, and Leonard thought we sounded like a mix of Pantera and Sepultura, so he jumbled up the 2 bands' names and it became Raspatul. And many years after, Leonard was surprised that we still stuck to the band name till this day.
