| Then I suddenly gave an idea to record a new song that we have played for quite a while. My drummer and me agreed and then we started to record the new song! Well, I was expecting the Pro-Tools to break down again, but by some form of miracle it didn't! RASPATUL haven't been jamming for at least 4 months, due to everyone being busy with work and other stuff so for my drummer to be able to play the whole song in one take with no mistakes was a rather decent feat! I recorded the actual guitar tracks in another session and making schedules with my vocalist and bassist, we finally recorded the song completely. And then I brought home the individual tracks, mixed and master the song using Nuendo. It took me a lot of effort and endless sleepless nights to mix it down to my satisfaction but I still think it is not good enough. The equipments used for the recording of this song are Pro-Tools and a Tascam DM24 console board. There are no triggers used in the drumset and everything is natural. 10) Your lyrics mostly deal with what? I can see that there dealing with some interesting themes, (based on titles of your track) for some songs you guys seem to be focusing on completely isolated topics such as life and death on no correlation to contemporary topics. Tell us something. - My vocalist Ayim actually wrote down the explanation behind the concept of each song on 'Menghitung Ajal' EP as well as the new promo CD. So here it goes: The Perfect Realm Of Jharkyannarkh - It is a place for sinners, where imperfection is seen as perfect. Everything is so perfect that we do not see god and its creation anymore. Indeed a place for sinners. Jharkyannarkh is a disease, a plague. This plague sweeps through all faith and leaves behind a trail of sadness. People seek comfort in being sick, lest they die. Intense Madness Intro /w Breaking - About condemning life and all that it gives. The lyrics tell about the drastic change from god to fallen from grace. Despising what god has given to me and turns it into my twisted idealogy that fed me with hatred towards all that bears the name of god. Scraped Torn Flesh - Lyrical contents that humiliates humanity and its creator. Talks about the pretence and hypocrisy in humans who are racing for power and greed in this fucked up world of man-made theories. Menghitung Ajal - Tell the story of a mortal man who no longer finds the meaning of his existence. Now yearning for the flames of hell and its hospitality. Having sinned for believing in life, he is drawn to hell, the domain for death and treachery... Blaming god for what has happened to him, he finds meaning in his inferno... Hell is forever!! Heaven is man-made!! A.O.D (Annihilation Of Divinity) - The title speaks for itself... The lyrics i wrote came from within the insane mind. Much frustrated with everything, all meanings that portrayed good are inverted. Life to me has no meaning! Beliefs are absurd... This tells you how much I despise what humans hold on to for their very manipulated lives. The lyrics are far more than pain and death... It's my marked aversion towards divinity! Unholy - Far more complex lyrics that tells you the pain and anguish struggling to breathe in god's realm. Sarcasms are thick and bold that corrodes the mind and filling it with nothing but death and hatred! Unholy talks about twisted minds as a result from false beliefs. Life as you see it is not how it seems... Though death can't be as life itself, it takes you to a place where life is seen as imperfect! 11) How does the songwriting process work for RASPATUL? Is it lyrics first then music composition? Or depending on each track? Is there a set formula you guys follow for a song? - Songwriting for RASPATUL is always about the music first, followed by the lyrics and stuff, and we are very slow at writing music! These days, we always try to make it a point to write better songs and this is where songwriting is very important to us. There is no standard formula that we follow or anything, so we try to make each song more interesting to hear rather than having some predictable arrangements that everyone has heard or played a million times. For example, 'The Perfect Realm Of Jharkyannarkh' was a song that came out of nowhere, from just a few riffs that I was playing in the studio, all bits and pieces. Like a jigsaw puzzle, we tried to gel every riff that sounded cool and most importantly, to make sure the whole song flows naturally. Well, if you really wanted us to say if we had a formula to follow, I would think that song arrangements played an important part in RASPATUL's music. 12) So far RASPATUL has joined over 13 shows. Along with the live RASPATUL experience, is it an awesome event that pulls and sucks the crowd in? Do you guys played better if you can feed off a mosh pit that is choked full of energy and excitement? - Thank you so much for your nice comments Sxull and yes we definitely play better if the moshpit is insane! I don't know about the rest of the guys, but whenever I see a mosh pit, I just get this adrenalin coming to me and it just made me wanna play even better, just for the Metalheads sweating in the moshpit! Hahaha! If you have already watched our live videos on the promo CD, this is exactly the way RASPATUL performs in any gig. We try to give as much as we can in a gig and of course, we get severe neck aches! Ironically, the live videos in the new promo CD happens to be the worse RASPATUL gig ever. The sound was horrible not only from the PA system, even the sound on stage sounded like shit! |
