And so 2 songs, 'Menghitung Ajal' and 'A.O.D' appeared in Nebiula Productions latest compilation 'Storm of Nebiula 2002'. The compilation featured Malaysian bands like Vociferation Eternity, Pyron, Mantak, As-Sahar, Mesmerized and Damien. Certainly a big achievement for RASPATUL! RASPATUL continued to play more gigs during the next year, in which they appeared in 2 gigs. The first gig in 2002 was called 'Mindtrip' and the gig was held in a small studio called Forward Studio (R.I.P). The gig turned out to be RASPATUL's most awesome and violent gig of all. The vibe was great between the band and the crowd. The next gig was held at Changi Simei Community Centre called 'The Tyrants Attack' which featured bands like Sihir, Septicaemia, Cardiac Necropsy, Sakaratul Maut, etc. RASPATUL has released their 5 song mini-CD entitled 'Menghitung Ajal'. With the release of this debut EP, the band hopes to gain more recognition and make a mark in the underground scene.

4) If you don't mind please describe characteristic of each of your band members. For how long you stayed together in RASPATUL. If I'm not mistaken you are not the original members of RASPATUL right?

- Honestly, all of us have very different characters, but we manage to maintain a healthy relationship throughout all the years and this is something that we should be proud of, I guess. But basically, all of us are very funny guys in our own way and we always make each other laugh all the time! RASPATUL has stayed in this same line-up for almost 4 years and it's unbelievable. Yes, I am not the founding member of RASPATUL. The original guitarist left the band halfway throughout the recording of 'Menghitung Ajal' EP and to make things worse, the studio that RASPATUL recorded in erased the first 2 songs and everything was going downhill for RASPATUL. At that time, I was already playing with the band, but I was basically playing with the band on a 'just for fun' basis cos I was playing in another Metal band myself. So naturally, when fucked up things happen to the band, I had to step in to help the band and I didn't even realised 4 years had passed.

5) Some interesting info, at the beginning the band is not played Death Metal but Punk Rock music. What are the major cause the band finally choose Death Metal as a main concept? What influenced you to played Death Metal?

- Yes, and I guess everyone had to start somewhere. And maybe some bands would even be embarrased about their past, but we are most definitely not! We still love and respect other concepts of music and I think that is what music is all about. There are no special stories as to how RASPATUL eventually became a Death Metal band, just the whole band evolving I guess. I should say Morbid Angel was the turning point in RASPATUL's musical approach. Like I said, it was nothing special right? Hahaha! For me personally, I first heard Napalm Death's 'Utopia Banished' album and I freaked out! But the music that changed my life was when I heard Morbid Angel's 'Altars of Madness' and the rest is history.

6) Let's jump to your latest promo 'The Perfect Realm Of Jharkyannarkh'. It's might your successful track since this material has been distributes exclusively by Razorback Records (USA). How you caught their attention on RASPATUL?

- Believe it or not, it wasn't intentional or did I set my mind on Razorback Records to help us out in any way. Razorback Records was better known for releasing Goregrind bands and even though they had some Death Thrash Metal bands under their name, it is not exactly your typical Death Thrash bands. I have been in contact with Jill from Razorback Records for a while and it just happened that I send the track over to her just to check us out and she pretty much freaked out and told me she loved the track a lot! She immediately asked me if I was interested to have our CD distributed under Razorback Records. It was a great fucking honour but unfortunately, I had to tell her that our CDs are not professionally printed, so there was no way Razorback Records could distribute for us. But she insisted on wanting to do something about it and then she suggested distributing our promo CDs as a sample CD to labels, zines and their customers, etc. I told her that RASPATUL was financially strained and she decided to buy our promo CDs! Well I guess with a label like Razorback Records, a little money wasn't a big factor but it certainly helped RASPATUL in a very big way!
