| I wonder if you would love me if I was your image of gold if I was as green as an emerald that glisteneth and glowed I wonder if you would love me If my skin was as pale as peach would your love be extended to me when you see me now would your heart be filled with glee I came with a hopeful look with a smile upon my face hopeful hardly breathing, waiting intensly there was nothing there for me not a welcome, just more pain, sighing The answer was shown to me as I appeared outside your door you were so ashamed you squinted looked to see who it was then you turned, hurrying, your back to me almost running inside the door You gave me your answer you wished I never came it struck me and then I knew as the lightning flashed nothing for you had changed tradition means more to you than the love of your only child You could not love me as I was to you it was as if I'd never been born,just died I drove away and then pondered I can no longer play this game your approval is neither necessary,nor desired but, I'll take your acceptance just the same |
