We recently adopted another Congo African Grey named Smokey. He is approximately 13 yrs old. He was wild caught, and went through several unfortunate home situations before ending up in the shelter were we found him. He is an absolute love!!! As soon as he saw Mia come around the corner with Tom he cock his head to the side and said "pretty bird!" We just started laughing.
His first night here he scared Tom to death. Around 2-3 am he hears "Hello" in the voice of an old man. The Smokey repeated it again. At this point Tom is looking for something to hit someone with---until Smokey beeped then said "hello" a third time. LOL! At some point he must have been owned by an older gentleman because that is the voice he has taken on. He also rings like a phone, laughs at you if you come to answer it...if you dont he beeps like an answering machine and says "Hello". He also says several other things such as "love ya", "pretty bird", "good boy" makes kissing noises and a wide arrange of whistlings of songs and "dances pretty " for us on command....
Mia & Kris like to play together with the mirror but Mia loves to eat peanutbutter off a spoon that she is holding best.
Here is my little double trouble.. I am the only one that can handle Blaze now...he has become very territorial since hitting sexual maturity. Kris is fine with me too, and is nice to others only IF Blaze is not around. This has Nate very stressed..Kris is his favorite of all the pets ---they even used to ride bikes together.

This is Sydney, she is a 9 yr old Moluccan Cockatoo. She was no longer wanted at her previous home. She had a mouth that could make a sailor blush when she first came here, and was very loud. But she harld swears or screams any more. She is wonderful & sweet.
She gets along so well with the kids..and has the personality of a little person...as well as the intellegence of one!!
Smokey & Sydney talking over the days events.
This is my poor sweet Mia. She had an accident when she was startled off her perch and caught her chest on the corner of the seed cacher of another cage in the bird room.  It cut a 1 inch wide triangle shaped flap out of her chest down threw the muscle that had to be restiched 4 times.
Smokey watching the world through his window. He loves watching the cars and wild birds...or me gardening
