1. Name
 1.1. The name of the 4-H club shall be 4Ever Green, herein referred to as the "Club".
 1.2. The mission of the Club is: To prepare young people to positively affect changes in society both today and in their adult future, through a Christian environment that complements their current involvement in church and school, with kids and adults working together.

2. Membership
 2.1. The members of the Club shall consist of youth in Kindergarten and older.
 2.2. The Club will meet 12 times a year i.e. one time per month.
 2.3. The Club President, or in their absence, the Club Vice President, shall preside at all meetings. The Club Secretary shall be assigned to keep minutes of all such meetings. The Club Treasurer shall have the duty of handling all Club treasuries.
 2.4. At every such meeting, each voting member in attendance shall be entitled to cast one vote.
 2.5. A voting member is considered a youth who has been a member of 4 Ever Green for at least 3 months.
 2.6. A quorum for the transaction of business at each meeting shall consist of a majority of the families being in attendance.
 2.7. A motion will pass with a majority vote.

3. Club Adult Leaders
 3.1. It is preferred that the Club be lead by 2 adult leaders.
 3.2. The primary leader is the Club�s contact point with the Dakota County Extension Office.

4. Club Officer Elections
 4.1. The officers of the Club shall be elected at the Annual Meeting held in October.
 4.2. The term of all officers, except for Treasurer, is one year. The Treasurer will serve a term of two years.
 4.3. It is preferred that no member serve more than one term consecutively in the same office.
 4.4. The offices of Club President, Club Vice President, Club Secretary, and Club Treasurer may only be held by non-Cloverbud members.
 4.5. Cloverbuds will vote only for offices open for Cloverbuds to hold.

5. Regular Meetings
 5.1. Roberts Rules will be followed.
 5.2. After the meeting is called to order, the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge will be recited by the club. The Vice President will then open the meeting with a Christian prayer.
 5.3. A quorum for the transaction of business at each meeting shall consist of a majority of the families being in attendance.

6. Annual Meeting
 6.1. The Annual Meeting will be held in October.
 6.2. At this meeting Officer Elections will be held, recognition will be awarded, a summary of the previous year will be given by the previous year�s Club Historian, and a summary of the upcoming year will be given by the previous year�s Club President.

7. Finance
 7.1. The funds of the Club shall be deposited in a bank and be withdrawn only upon the check of the Treasurer as authorized in business meetings or by a Club Leader.
 7.2. Club funds will be generated by a Club fundraiser the fall of each year; all member families will participate in this fundraiser and raise a pre-determined amount per family (Example: November 2002 Fundraiser required families to each sell 3 calendars, generating $9 in revenue for the club.). Additional fundraising events shall be held at the discretion of the Club.
 7.3. Members will pay county dues per Dakota County specifications (Example: $6 per family plus $1 per member for the year 2002/2003)
 7.4. New members will pay 4Ever Green dues of a pro-rated amount of the required fall fundraising amount. Example: November 2002 Fundraiser required families to each sell 3 calendars, generating $9 in revenue for the club; if a family joined in June of 2003, they would pay 4Ever Green dues of $3 (calculated as $.75 per month for the months of July, August, September, and October).

8. Amendments
 8.1. Amendments to these by-laws may be made by two-thirds vote of the members of the 4Ever Green 4-H Club present at any meeting, assuming a quorum to hold business exists.


The by-laws of 4Ever Green were written in April 2003.
Changes made to the by-laws have been the following:
 5/13/03 Numbering was added for ease of reference. 2.5 was changed from 6 months to 3 months.
 6/04/03 5.2 was changed by adding "Christian" prior to the word "prayer".
 6/18/03 1.2 was changed by adding the Club�s mission statement.
 9/09/03 5.3 was added.
 1/29/04 4.2 was changed to state the Treasurers term is for two years.
