Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong, is without a doubt one of the greatest games characters ever, and one of the most popular too. He has appeared in countless games, starring as either the villain or hero. Over the years he has become teamed with a huge family of Kongs, and recently starred with most of them in Donkey Kong 64. His most popular game was Donkey Kong Country on the SNES, with DKC 2 & 3 close behind. DK's latest appearance was in the hugely successful Super Smash Bros. Melee, and his next title will either be Donkey Kong Racing or Donkey Kong Coconut Crackers.

Diddy Kong
Diddy Kong is the second most popular character from the DK franchise, and has starred in nearly as many games as DK. He had his own game, Diddy Kong Racing, which until late 2000, was the fastest selling game of all time. It featured 7 new DK characters, and introduced Rare's other 2 major franchisees, Conker and Banjo. He has a new game coming up on GBA, Diddy Kong Pilot that has rumoured link up with Donkey Kong Racing. Diddy Kong is a fantastic member of the DK team, and with his new games coming up, and a major role in another, he shows no signs of slowing down.

Chunky
Made his first and only appearance in Donkey Kong 64, where he was the big tough guy. The older brother to Kiddy, this promising Kong was a major player in the defeat of King K. Rool. Although he hasn't appeared in any games since, this shouldn't be his last appearance...hopefully.

Kiddy
The main star of DKC 3 alongside Dixie, this Kong is the younger brother to Chunky. Was the cute but dangerous Kong that helped Dixie defeat K.Rool, and until now, hasn't appeared since. Kiddy has appeared in footage of Donkey Kong Racing on Gamecube, so this Kong has an exciting feature ahead of him.

Dixie
Dixie appeared in DKC 3, where she introduced the now trademark helicopter hair spin that's also used by her younger sister Tiny. Dixie was inspirational in the defeat of K.Rool, and was part of one of the best boss fights ever against K.Rool at the end of DKC3. Dixie may appear in Donkey Kong Racing, but at the moment her sister has stolen the limelight.

Tiny
Her name doesn't lie. A major member of the crew in DK64, Tiny used her size to aid the Kong team in the defeat of K.Rool. The younger sister to Dixie, Tiny looks to have made a good impression, and has been seen in footage of Donkey Kong Racing riding a dolphin, which is evidence she'll be a important character in the game.

Lanky
A distant cousin to the Kong family, he joined the gang in DK64 for the battle against K.Rool. His huge arms sure came in handy. As Cranky says, he's the joker of pack, and his goofy and unusual style, this Kong's one hell of a guy!!

Cranky
The old, wise but as his name suggests, cranky fellow that offers his knowledge to the Kong's, not kindly though. He has been with the Kongs since nearly the start, and throughout his long haul has proved very helpful, teaching Kongs new moves, and providing them with hints. He is getting on in age, but expect him to play a major role in the next Donkey Kong game.

Funky
The hip,  cool and well-liked cousin of the Kongs, Funky can be of great help. In the DKC games, he provided the Kongs with transport, and in DK64 he dealt them weaponry and ammo. Funky is always finding and creating new and improved accessories for the Kongs, and has been doing it since the SNES days. Don't expect him to stop anytime soon.

Swanky
Swanky was always there for the Kongs when the needed some relief from their difficult adventures, and for a small price, he provided them with games that the Kongs could win big from. Cranky was always there for competition too. But in DK64, Swanky was nowhere to be seen. Has Rare retired Swanky? We hope not, because those games where fun!!

K. Rool
What can we say? He seems to be invincible, with his many different disguises, and every time he is defeated, he comes back stronger. He has appeared in every Rare developed DK game, but after last time, were not sure he will join us next time. So does he survive the DK64 boss battle? Technically, no, he didn't, but trust Rare to come up with a brilliant story that'll put K.Rool back as the main villain.
