| One creature that is much like a mermaid is a Siren. They are beautiful women-like creatures who play beautiful music. To men it is entoxicating, they can't help but to follow them into the deapths of the ocean and beyond. Some sirens are powerful enough to even envoke similar feelings unto women and animals. Most Sirens mean no harm when they play their music, but they can't help it, that is just how their magic works. |
| The merfolk are creatures of the water. The earliest reference in human history to merfolk was in Babylonian times. It was said that beautiful creatures with the body of a woman and the tail of a fish enticed helpless sailors to their deaths. It is true that a merwoman(mermaid) would flirt a little with a sailor, but the desire that would overcome the men would basically seal their fates. |
