The sky was dark

she lay in the sand,
Letting each grain graze
the surface of her supple skin.
feel her body,
feel her emotions,
feel her heart,
and the sky was dark.

she rolled over and over again,
feeling the sand kiss her skin.
dirty her hair.
invade her soul,
she listened as the silence screamed,
as her emotions overwhelmed her,
and the sky was dark.

She grasped a handful of silver sand,
again and again.
letting each grain
slowly fall from her grasp
as she covered her entire body,
she closed her eyes,
and felt the sand
gently fall upon her eyelids,
as she fell into a dreamless sleep.
and the sky was dark.
