Memories Fade (A true story)

I used to remember the day
like it was yesterday.
But her long jacket and
red Subaru are fading
more each day.
I know my brothers were next to me
Not wanting to believe
Not ready.
But memories fade.
I had a mother,
and a father,
and brothers
who loved me.
I no longer have a whole family.
Her bag in her left hand
or was it her right?
Was it black
or brown?
Was she my mom?
Or was she just someone to keep me warm
for nine months
and "love" me for 6 years?
I guess she thought it
Was her time to go.
Memories fade,
I wish they were all gone
but there are some memories,
which will never leave.
