My website is dedicated to the memory of Lee Laughlin, who was one of the first gay people I knew personally. I will always remember the gentle soul of this soft-spoken Texan. When he died at the age of 28, Lee was just one of many thousands of wonderful gay men lost in the first decade of the AIDS holocaust. Knowing Lee and experiencing his death was the turning point of my life, convincing me that I could no longer stay in the closet. Lee lives on in the memory of his family and friends, changing us to this very day.
The AIDS Quilt is an attempt to remember the many people who have died from this disease. Each panel is designed and sewn by people who knew and loved the person who died.
Read about the AIDS Quilt
After Lee died in Dallas in 1988, his name was included in this panel of the AIDS Quilt.

My site is also dedicated to Matthew Shepard and all other queer people who have suffered persecution and violence for being who they are. Let us all work for the day when all queer people will be able to live openly and without fear.
