There are two events that will soon take place. The first one is the Rapture of the Church. The Second is the Revelation of Jesus Christ to Israel and the world.
The Revelation of Christ is when He comes to set up the Jewish Kingdom promised to the Israel. This Kingdom will be established on the earth for a thousand years. Jews today await the coming of their Messiah and the establishment of a paradise on earth.
This Kingdom was to be established when the Lord was born as King in Jerusalem. "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." Mark 1:15
Jesus came as King to establish His Kingdom. The end result was that Israel then rejected Christ as their Messiah saying, "We have no King but Caesar!" Now for this sin Israel lost her position with God. (Romans Chapter 11 outlines this well) Salvation and the Holy Spirit now came to the Gentiles at Pentecost and the new Church was established to be the Bride of Christ.
Israel however fell short."Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts; Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst. And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms. For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully..." Hosea 2:2-5
Because of Israel's rejection of Christ and her whoredoms, (following after other gods and idols), she is no longer the Bride of Christ. She has been replaced by the Church and her as branches have been cut off.(Romans 11)
Is this racist against Jews, certainly not! Before the Rapture comes, Israel at this moment can now become apart of the Church through a belief in Christ and in the New Covenant of faith and not works.Through Christ Jesus, any Jew can become part of the Church and be the Bride of Christ. Through belief in Him, all Israels sins can be forgiven and enter in to the Church. But has Israel done this? "...also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will they be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again." Romans 11:22
Today the majority of Jews still reject Jesus by saying he was just a prophet or worse. They are still under the law, their sins are not forgiven, and they do not have the Holy Spirit. Right now Israel is in deep sin. So what is God going to do with his people? After all scripture states that God shall not be mocked.
What will take place after the Rapture of the Church is that God will then begin to punish Israel into repentance for seven years. The beginning of sorrows is the first 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation. Then the antichrist will appear and will sign a new covenant with them and they shall live in peace for 3 1/2 years. Instead of becoming part of the New Covenant of God's Salvation, they now form a covenant with satans man the antichrist beast.
After 3 1/2 years have passed, the beast will declare himself to be god in the flesh and will show lying signs and wonders to prove to the Jews that he in fact is their true Jehovah Messiah,"Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." 2 Thess. 2:9-10
Israel will now commit to the most serious of sin as they at this time will begin to worship the beast and all his power. They will accept him as Jehovah and not Jesus. Now will begin the Great Tribulation. The wrath of God will be poured out full strength for the last 3 1/2 years.
At this time there will 144,000 Jewish people sealed by God to go fourth and preach the gospel of the the establishment of the Jewish Kingdom on earth. Many Jews will be looking and waiting for the coming Messiah after denying the antichrist. "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place,(whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains..." Matt. 24:14-16 During the Tribulation Israel will be refined like gold and many will turn away from the beast king.
Now what about the Church. Unlike Israel we have accepted Christ and have been given the Holy Spirit and Salvation through the New Covenant of faith and have become the faithful Bride of Christ. The Gentiles received Christ and now theere are entire Nations whose foundation was built upon the Rock of Gods Word. We as the Church have reached out to the four corners of the world and have established many churches. Israel however still remains hardened and has not become Christian, but the door is still open to them for them to enter into the heavenly Jerusalem though faith in Jesus Christ. Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. Matt. 21:43
For the Church our place is in heaven with Christ."For our citizenship is in heaven; from which we eagerly wait for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall transform our vile body, that it may be conformed to his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." Phillipians 3:20,21
Yes we wait for the day of Rapture when our bodies will be redeemed. This is redemption of the body is part of Rapture and not the resurrection to take place after the tribulation. This resurrection is for those who died in faith during the Tribulation. These saints will remain on earth and enter into the 1000 year Jewish kingdom.
The Church will be taken out of the way before the Tribulation so that God can begin to punish all the world. At that time there will only be unrepentant Israel, and the unrepentant Gentiles that got left behind after the Rapture. Only the 144,000 will be protected during the Tribulation, the rest will have to be martyred for their faith because they missed the Rapture and God's call to free Salvation.
We as the Church await the coming of Jesus and not the coming of the Messiah. We wait to be taken to heaven, not to live in the Jewish Kingdom on earth known as Paradise. We go to heaven to become the Bride of Christ. We will enter into the heavenly Jerusalem, while the Tribulation Saints will enter into the earthy Jerusalem,(ie Kingdom).
"But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all."
Gal.4:26
"And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." Rev. 21:2
When God's wrath is poured upon all mankind, those who are in Christ will not be there. Why is because we will have been Raptured. We wait for Rapture and the coming of Christ in the clouds. After the Rapture takes place, the others will have to wait for the Revelation of Jesus Christ and His coming to the earth as the Messiah. We who are saved have already entered the Kingdom and need not wait for the earthy one.
"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." (Luke 21:36)
"And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come." (1 Thessalonians 1:10)
"For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ," (1 Thessalonians 5:9)
"Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." (Romans 5:9)
"Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth." (Revelation 3:10)
