I am concerned that the pursuits of "gifts" have become candy to the churches as they should be concentrating on the meat and not the candy. For me obedience should be the focus and not fast food healing.
Here is something to be concerned about. Almost all the TV preachers fully endorse the the pope as their "spiritual leader" on earth. More and more the Charismatics look to the pope and miracles from the Vatican to guide them.
If you ground people into miracles and not the Word of God, you can then lead them anywhere you want them to go. This is because they are grounded in miracles and not Jesus. Jesus becomes a means to a miracle.
Joh 4:48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
Jesus is first in my life and not miracles. If Jesus should never grants me a miracle ever again, I will still follow Him where ever He goes.
2Co 12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
Here we see that the signs were to prove the validity of the Apostles. Notice the past tense used in the above.
Heb 2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
God bore witness to the Apostles through signs and wonders.
Ro 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

See the miracles of the Apostles were a sign that they were of God. Scripture says that the Apostle was a man who walked with Jesus face to face.
Now that the Apostles are gone, so are the signs and wonders. We are now in the age of faith not miracles. Once the church age ends then God will begin outpouring His miracles on Israel to bring the Jews back to Him. For us this has already taken place at Pentecost.
Is healing for today? Yes. Is God outpouring them to all mankind. No. That time has passed as we enter into the age of faith and grace. Today the Apostles are gone, so if we want to be healed we go directly to God and not a man that claims to have the gift of healing and builds big shows around it. For me healing is more of a respectful nature.
Miracles were poured out in great numbers to the early church for one reason only. It was to get the attention of the Jews. Miracles proved to Israel that God was now in the new Church and not the synagogues and that salvation had then come to their enemies the Gentiles. Today we take Jesus by faith and not miracles.
TV preachers threaten people that id they do not get money they will fold the ministry and/or you won't get "that" miracle. If a ministry is of God it will stand no matter what.
Are miracles for today. The answer is no. Do miracles happen today. YES. But we pray for one and God gives us the healing or miracle, not some TV preacher who claims to have "the Power." Move over faith healers, God is in control... not you.
