In October of 2002, I was going on a ride to Tucson, AZ. I am not quite sure what happened but I wiped out in a corner at about 50 mph. I had to be life flighted out of the area and was sent to University Medical Center. I was found to have broken my collarbone in 2 places, my shoulder, 8 ribs, and had a very severe concussion. The only thing that saved my life was the fact that I was wearing my helmet. The helmet did its job and took the impact for me, even though I had a concussion. I still think that the worst part was having the cactus needles pulled out of my neck and back.
