JPE MOTORSPORTS

Jim Pekarek

I am the owner of JPE Motorsports, a subsidiary of JPE Enterprises, and have been involved with MR2s for about 3 years now.  This project marks my first "radical" engine swap, but I've done several swaps in the past, involving 3sgte's, Mazda rotaries, and GM V6's.

I'm a 22 year old auto mechanic and small business owner, and depending on my success with this swap, I may decide to modify cars in this fashion for a living.

I'm located in the suburbs of Detroit, an area I absolutely hate, and I'm planning on moving to a more rural area as soon as funding permits, hopefully before winter hits next year.  I'm currently deciding if I want to live in Florida, Tennessee, or stay near my family here in Michigan, just in a more rural area. I hate the cold, but most everyone I know lives around here.

I have a small air compressor with a minimal assortment of cheap Craftsman air tools, as well as an extensive set of basic Craftsman hand tools.  In addition, I recently purchased a $10 angle grinder and a $180 mig welder, which I intend to learn how to use during the course of this project.

I am currently single, which is probably why I can do stuff like this.

1983 Mazda RX-7 Limited Edition - secondary daily driver

1985 Mazda RX-7 GS - RIP

1972 Datsun 240z - project car

1994 Pontiac Grand Prix - doing motor swap then selling

1985 Honda CRX - was going to convert into SCCA race car, but was rusted out so we destroyed it with an axe and a sledge hammer, RIP
