Sometimes...
Even the greenest of leaves brown and fall
Can't always receive all of life's calls.
The largest rooms are still confined by their walls.
Pens eventually run dry of ink.
Sometimes we lose the power to think.
Can't blink back all your tears.
People do succummb to their fears.
Limits get reached.
Defenses breached.
Run out of gas before you reachin your peaks.
Can't always go back the same way you came -
like, where would the Yellow Brick Road take you if you
    go the other way?
                           nowhere...
Things no longer seem to be what they are anymore.
Even paradise gets it's share of winter storms.
In time you will wake up from your dreams,
    Being lucky if you get to finish your dreams,
        Luckier still if it chooses to stay with you
               after you wake.
Sometimes you have to give more than you take.
Can't repair all your mistakes
   even though they can still be repeated,
Defeated by flaws, faults, errors and lies.
Even the prettiest flowers die.
Candles melt down to the end.
There are days when you can't see even your closest of friends.
The highest fliers have to come back down to the ground.
Divers do run out of air
        Can't hold their breath forever.
Can't piece paper together the same way after you
        Tear it apart.
Sometimes you lose some pieces when trying to fix
     A broken heart.
Can't complete all of the puzzle.
Can't win all of your hands.
Can't conquer all the lands.
Can't stand all of the time
Can't always stay in the lines
Can't always get what you want.
Can't always get what you see.
Can't always deflect all of the blame.
Sometimes two hearts
    just don't love the same...
Sometimes you can't even cry.
Sometimes you can't even die.
Sometimes you can't even try.
"...and sometimes why...
Nothing is fo sho
Nothin is for certain
Nothing lasts forever
    But until they close the curtain..."
in my eyes,
    it's all just
       another day in the life.
