Derick is 13 years old, and lives in the Monze Distict of Zambia. I sponsor him through AKIN for only $17 a year, which pays for his school fees.
He is currently in Grade 7 of Nkaba Primary School.
Derick's father died and he is now living with his grandfather.
He speaks Tonga at home.
Derick shows a great enthusiasm for school, and has received excellent marks. I received his latest report card in October, 2002, and he had Excellent, Very Good, or Good grades in everything . His teacher said "This boy has improved in a very short period of time."
He studies English, Tonga, Social Studies, Environmental Science, Mathematics, and Home Economics. |
