Zen and I went to the beach to celebrate the completion of my junior year in vet school. It was Zen's first trip to the beach. He was a little leary of the waves at first but then decided they wanted to play. He would playbow the waves and then run away from them as they "chased" him. When he tired of the waves, he decided that the seabirds -- herons, egrets, sandpipers, seagulls and pelicans -- needed chasing. Unfortunately, he could never catch them and gave up to lie beside me.
