Biography:

Alasdair won an Andrew Lloyd Webber Scholarship to the Arts Educational Schools. He has just finished playing the lead role of Raoul in Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty�s Theatre. Prior to Phantom he played Grantaire, and understudied and played both Marius and Enjolras, in Les Mis�rables at the Palace Theatre. He understudied and played Billy Bigelow in the Royal National Theatre�s production of Carousel at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London, and prior to that Cliff with the original company of Sunset Boulevard at the Adelphi Theatre. He understudied and played the leading role of Alex in Aspects of Love, both on tour and at the Prince of Wales Theatre, played Avrahm in Fiddler on the Roof for the West Yorkshire Playhouse and appeared in the National Tour of My Fair Lady directed by Simon Callow. He has also played Charlie in the revival of Lional Bart's Blitz! in Newcastle. Most recently Alasdair played the lead role of the Beast in the original London cast of Disney�s Beauty and the Beast.

On Television he has appeared in a Christmas special of Birds of a Feather.
On radio he was recently featured in Mad and Her Dad and Pendragon for the Radio 2 In Company With Sondheim series.
As a director he directed the Action Children�s Theatre Cabaret at the Palace Theatre, London and the Pulse Trust Musical Gala at the Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham. Most recently he directed and produced The Musicals, a concert hosted by David Jacobs at the Birmingham Symphony Hall which is to tour later this year.

Current Engagements:

As of summer, 1998, Alasdair has been signed to play the Beast in Beauty and the Beast for another year.
