Biography:

Clive Carter trained at LAMDA. His theatre work includes The Manchurian Candidate (Lyric, Hammersmith; Prince / Wold in Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods (Phoenix) for which he was nominated for an Oliver Award; Kane in Someone Like You (Strand); original cast member (Javert) in the RCS/Cameron Mackintosh production of Les Miserables (Barbican/Palace); Edward in Two Into One (Theatre of Comedy, Shaftesbury); Gary in Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You (Ambassadors); Clint in Wild, Wild Women (Astoria); Jim Dougherty in Marilyn (Adelphi); Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream and O'Flaherty in G.B. Shaw's O'Flacerty VC (New Shakespeare Company, Regent's Park); Cassio in Othello and Mark Antony in Julius Caesar (Mermaid).

Clive has recently worked with Stephen Sondheim again on Putting It Together at the Oxford Fire Station. He has also played Joey in In Praise of Love and Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show (European Tour); Curly in Oklahoma! (national tour); Malcolm in Macbeth, Orlando in As You Like It, Henry V in Henry V, Soranzo in 'Tis Pity She's a Whore (Northcott, Exeter); Count Carl Magnus in A Little Night Music and Mrs. Warren's Profession (Nottingham Playhouse); Jesus in Godspell, and Joe in If Winter Comes (Leicester HAymarket). Prior to the start of playing Raoul, Clive finished a successful season with The New Shakespeare Company in London playing Tranio in The Taming of the Shrew and the lead role, Martin, in Rogers and Hart's Connecticut Yankee.
