Dale commenced his show business career in Australia with the Adeleide Festival trust's productions of The Sound of Music and Oliver. He then travelled to the UK where he trained further at the Academey of Live and Recorded Arts and at the Actor's Centre in London. After graduating he played the role of Rolf in the West End production of The Sound of Music. Upon his return to Australia, Dale created the role of Alan Courtnet in Seven Little Australians and then featured in the 1989 production of Anything Goes. He subsequently joined the Melbourne season of Les Miserables in which he played the student Courfeyrac and on occasion, the role of Enjolras. In 1994 Dale appeared as Young Scrooge in the premiere Australia production of Scrooge The Musical! Dale has performed in numerous concerts throughout Australia and with Marina Prior at the Sydney Opera House. Engagements at the Melbourne Concert Hall include An Evening with Fred and Ginger with Ronda Burchmore, From Brigadoon to Broadway with the Australian Pops Orchestra and the 1994 Morning Melodies Christmas Concert. Dale has appeared on numerous television variety shows and appears regularly on Bert Newton's "Good Morning Australia." Earlier in 1995 Dale was featured as a gues artist on the QE2 cruise liner. Dale returns to the role of Raoul after performing the role for two years with the original Australian premiere cast at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne.
