This page is primarily just about the mechanics, not the actual details and backgrounds of the races -- that will be shown in the setting page.
HUMANS:

Humans come in many varieties physically. In general, the humans of the various regions of the BLOODLINES campaign setting, however, can roughly be seen as more or less equivalent to humans in our world, especially of Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. More details to be given in the setting page. However, all humans have the same rules:

  • Medium sized
  • Base speed 30 ft.
  • 1 extra base skill point per level (translates to 4 extra skill points at first level)
  • 1 extra feat at first level
NOTE: The basic d20 Modern rules assume race is human. If you use the rules as written, do not give an additional extra base skill point or feat -- instead, you must subtract an extra feat and extra base skill point at first level for non-human races.


ESONIR:

The Esonir are a statuesque people: tall, lithe, fair of skin, with shiny silver eyes and white hair. The king of Cassant is esonir. Rules are as follows:

  • -2 Constitution, +2 Wisdom, +2 Charisma
  • Medium sized
  • Base speed 30 ft.
  • +1 Racial bonus to all Saving Throws
  • Lowlight vision


CHARISSAN:

The Charissan are shorter and lithe, with dark gray to black skin and hair, and pale blue eyes. They have pointed ears and a long, thin tail. Rules as follows:

  • +2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution
  • Medium sized
  • Base speed 40 ft.
  • Darkvision 60 ft.


JANNARIN:

Jannarin are also very tall and whip-like, with golden-yellow eyes and pale, wavy hair. Their skin is a dark, brownish-red, like fired bricks. Rules as follows:

  • +2 Dexterity, -2 Wisdom
  • Medium sized
  • Base speed 30 ft.
  • Heat/fire resistance 10
  • +2 Racial bonus to Spot, Listen checks


VALENNIM:

The Valennim are somewhat shorter and stockier, although brusque and uncultured next to the other races. They have a grayish brown skin, with a gritty sand-like texture, very dark, deepset eyes, and hair that is thick and either green or flaxen, like grass or grain. Rules as follows:

  • +2 Strength, +2 Constitution, -2 Intelligence, -2 Wisdom, -2 Charisma
  • Medium sized
  • Base speed 20 ft.
  • Low light vision


ORCS:

Orcs are much more humanoid in this setting than in most -- they do have sharp teeth with slightly oversized canines (bottom canines often protrude slightly when their mouths are closed) and are somewhat taller and broader than humans, and more hirsute as well, but are otherwise very similar to humans in appearance. Skin tones range from dark olive green to an almost brownish olive, and eyes are typically yellow, like a wolf or lion. Rules as follows:

  • +2 Strength, -2 Charisma
  • Medium sized
  • Base speed 30 ft.
  • Darkvision 60 ft.
