The Stupidity of Labels
What do I mean by label? I mean the people that call themselves or other people punks, goths, preps, and so on. Have you ever really thought about how stupid labels really are? Everytime I see someone who labels themselves I simply ask. "Why?" and I almost always get, "I am being original." Well, you aren't. There are thousands of other "punks" or "goths" or whatevers. What exactly makes a punk or a goth or a prep or a poser? For the longest time I thought that a punk was someone that dyes their hairstrange colors, wears bright cloths that dont match or would be considered different, wants anarchy, and listens to punk rock (which has also changed. A punk rock song, I thought, had to be fast pace, energetic, and in a sense, and in major. Now I have heard songs that sound like simple heavy rock that have been called punk.) It seems this has all changed sinced then because now I see people that dont have bright cloths, crazy hair but listen to punk rock and call themselves punks.I suppose these people are "posers" now I always thought a poser was somebody wh o copied other people or thought they were something they were not. Then I realized every punk was unoriginal except for the very first few people who came up with the idea of being punk. Then there is the "goths" to be a goth I always figured you had to wear all black, listen to heavy metal, be suicidal and speak poetically violent about everything all the time, as well as have no self esteme and worship the devil or read the Necronomicon. The same thing has happened. There are now several people in my class that think they are gothic because they they wear black and try to write poetry, speak articulatly and use large words to describe pain, violence, and evil and they just sound stupid. What really pisses me off is the people who think they can cast spells. They think they can kill people with magic because they downloaded "The 50 Names of Murdoc Compendium" on Kazaa. Here is some information for you, "The 50 Names of Murdoc Compendium" is roughly 54 pages in length and appears at the end of the Necronomicon. I will tell you a little secret, you can buy the Necronomicon. They sell them at the Walden's Bookstore in the mall near where I live. They retail for about $8.95. Here is some more news, if you listen to it and try a ritual from it then you are a dumbass. You bought a simplified version of the Necromicon and you are listening to it, do you really think that it is an accurate copy of the original version? That is pretty fucking stupid. The original book was written by Abdul Al-Hazred, aka The Mad Arab around the year 730 A.D. How do I know all this? Well, in my search for infinite wisdom, I have learned a lot about everything. Some might say to me, "Why did you say all that stuff about punks and goths, there are other labels out there too," Yes, there are, I know this, it just so happens that I see "punks" and "goths" more than the others and I am getting tired of writing about this paradox of stupidity and dont want to continue with other labels. I challenge all who read this to find a univeral definition of what is a punk or goth(Yes, I know Maddox already said he is looking for a definition but I also want one). I have been searching for it, and I still haven't found one. Want to complain about what I have said? Go ahead, I dont care because I know I am right.
