A Ranma 1/2 multi crossover fan fiction By Dmitri' Ranshin' Antonov The Guardians of Earth Chapter 7: Past and Future Dark. Why is it dark? Why is there no light? Why can't I see anything? Oh, right. My eyes are closed. Stupid idiot. "Where the heck am I?" Said Ranma out loud as he woke up from a rather unpleasant slumber. How he fell asleep in the first place was a clue to him. Pushing those thoughts aside he surveyed his surroundings. He easily recognized the place he was currently in. "I'm back here. What the heck happened anyway?" Asked Ranma out loud, his memory not really catching up with his head. As Ranma stood up he once again looked around the dark room that he and Ryoga had visited weeks ago. It had happened after they touched each other's marks. He then realized that's probably what happened again. The poor boys memory finally caught up to his mind and he remembered everything. The Sailor Senshi, the demon Kirac. The Wind and Wood Guardians. Ranma then noticed four bodies lying on the floor beside him. He then quickly did a mental check. *Let's see. Ryoga. Check. Two chicks which I forced here. Check. Another person that Ryoga brought here. Check.* Everything seemed to be in order, except. *Masters of Light and Darkness. Absent.* Then Ranma heard a loud groan at his side. He decided to see who had woken up. To his relief it was Ryoga. "Hey bud. How'd ya sleep?" He asked his bandanna-clad friend. "Huh? Oh, hey Ranma. Slept okay. Where the heck am I by the way?" Ryoga answered groggily. He obviously wasn't fully awake yet. "Remember the cool room this entire thing started in?" Asked Ranma. "What thing?" Asked Ryoga, still half asleep. "Did you hit your head or something man? You're not usually this stupid you know." Easiest known way to get Ryoga's attention. Piss him off. "What did you say?" Asked Ryoga with a growl. He was obiously awake now. "Nothing. Look around and you'll find the answer to your previous question." Said Ranma, making a circling gesture with his index finger. Ryoga then looked around, and quickly recognized the room he was in. The room hadn't changed at all. The casket like things were still in their place, emitting beautiful colours. Ryoga then finally remembered how the heck he got here. *That girl Ryoko, and the fight with that crazy Amanda girl. Ouch, I'm still sore from that.* Then the two martial-artists felt a small rush of Ki in the air. The type when someone wakes up or falls asleep. In this case it was the former. Both boys stopped looking around the room and looked behind them as they heard the sound of rustling clothes. When the boys turned around what they saw was strangely attractive to them. It probably would have normal boys holding their groins in pain. But Ranma and Ryoga had pledged most of their lives to the art. So they were rather ignorant to things like arousal and love. Especially Ranma. Two of the girls were standing up, rather slowly at that, while moving their bodies in a way that pointed out their chests. The one's who were standing up were Setsuna Meioh and Ryoko Hibuki, holding their heads in pain, and moaning like little kittens that had boo-boos. Not knowing that there were two boys across the room staring at them. Once the two girls managed to fully stand up, they looked across the room to see the two boys. The two girls then seemed to try to remember what happened, which took a minute or two. Then as instincts took over they glared at the two boys. Ranma and Ryoga didn't respond to the glares very well. Actually, they wanted to go cower in fear, but they didn't do so, as it wouldn't be following their code. So instead the just scratched the back of their heads in embarrassment. "Uhh...hi?" Was what Ranma finally managed to get out after a minute or two. "Hi." Said Ryoko in a menacing tone. "Ryoga. Where the hell did you take me?!" She then focused her glare at Ryoga, scaring the poor boy spitless. Well, almost. "Uhh...exactly where I said I would. This is the place." Ryoga said nervously, pointing around the room. "You had better be telling the truth pal." Snarled Ryoko. On the other side of the room we see Setsuna helping Hotaru to stand up, as the noise from Ryoko woke the girl up. When they were both on their feet they noticed that instead of being in their fuku's, they were wearing their casual clothes. Shrugging it off, the two females turned their attention to Ranma. Setsuna glared, while Hotaru just looked confused. "May I ask as to why you brought us here?" Asked Setsuna in a polite tone, looking relaxed. But her glare said otherwise. "Because I had to?" Said Ranma, not really sure himself. "Look, I'm sorry I didn't explain everything." He started explaining. He then corrected himself. "Uh...anything. I'm sorry I didn't tell you anything." "Then would you mind explaining it now?" Said Setsuna, still with a polite tone, still glaring. "We can handle that." Said two voices in unison. Turning all of the five occupants of the room in their direction. "Who the heck are you?!" Shouted Ryoko into the direction that the voices came from. "No need to be rude." Said Lareling, walking into the light where she could be seen. "You could've just told them to shut the hell up you know?" Asked Darcyn his sister as he came into view. "That would have been more rude than they were right now." Said the Mistress of Light in response. "But it would've worked." Retorted the Master of Darkness. "Excuse me, but could you please stop ignoring us and explain what we are doing here?" Said Setsuna a little impatiently. "Oh yes, of course. What we are about to tell you has already been heard by the boys so..." Said Larelind. "...We have another task for you two." Finished Darcyn. "What?" Quickly said the two boys. They really wanted to get the heck out of there. "To find the last two Guardians." Answered Darcyn. "Although it won't be an easy task. One of them is in the near future, and another in the distant past." Said Larelind in a warning tone. "The past and future that they live in are but possibilities. In other words, alternate universes. What you see there you should not take as your futures or pasts." Said Darcyn. "They are possibilities, but not at all the exact ones." "Therefore you must choose. One of you will take the future and the other the past." Said Larelind. "Uh...what are these places like?" Asked Ryoga, very nervous at the moment. "The past is filled with many demons. Therefore it will be a challenge of strength." Answered Darcyn. "But the future is being attacked by creatures out of this world. A fight you cannot interfere with. Therefore it will be a challenge of knowledge and spirit." Larelind added. The two boys just stood there thinking for a few moments. Both of them obviously wanted to take the past. But they couldn't both take it. After thinking for a few minutes, Ranma was the first one to voice his decision. "I'll take the future." He said, not really sure of himself, but ready for the challenge. "Then I'll take the past." Quickly followed Ryoga, hppy that his best friend decided to take the other option. "Both of you are sure?" Asked Larelind. Both boys nodded. "Then we'll send you there." Said Darcyn. "As you get there you will receive our guidance when you'll need it." Then both the Master of Darkness and the Mistress of Light glowed. Each pointed a finger forward. Darcyn pointed at Ryoga, and Larelind at Ranma. Then, both of the boys disappeared. The three girls standing there watching the entire thing looked shocked. Not really 'Holy Fuck' shocked, but rather 'Whoa, that's a new one' shocked. Then all three of them looked at the two powerful beings across the room. Larelind and Darcyn looked back at them, and with smiles said. "So, shall we continue?" ------------------- Universe #2057. Also known as The Neon Genesis Evangelion Universe... Shinji Ikari sighed heavily while lying in his bed, listening to his SDAT. Why did his life have to get more complicating with each day? It was enough that he had to pilot huge humanoid robots to save the human race from the messengers of god, and now this. It all started with Shinji having weird dreams, which involved some weird room which glowed a lot. Then after having these dreams for three straight days he woke up one morning with some weird marks on his forehead and hands. The mark on his forehead was a kanji in some weird language that for some unknown reason he could understand. His mark meant 'Fire', although he had no idea what it was supposed to mean. "Why does my life always get more complicated every second?" The boy asked himself out loud. He was lucky that no one was home, or else they'd probably notice the marks and start asking all sorts of questions. He was rather glad and also extremely relieved that he had the apartment to himself. Misato was attending a wedding, while Asuka had a date with some guy. After lying in bed for over an hour Shinji finally stood up. He was getting really bored just lying in bed listening to the same old music. He was used to listening to the same tape over and over for hours at a time, but he felt different today for some reason. So Shinji stood up, took off his shorts and shirt, put on the school uniform that he usually wears, and then walked out the front door of the apartment. Ten minutes later Shinji was walking outside, in the direction of the town centre. He actually had no idea what the heck made him go outside, he didn't even know where he was really going. It was bright and warm outside. Shinji enjoyed the light breeze of the wind as it softly rushed against his skin. He breathed in the fresh air and completely relaxed while he continued his stroll. After walking for a nice half hour Shinji finally came to a stop, in front of a clothing store of all places. He didn't really know why he did it, but he entered the store. As he walked inside he noticed the inside of the store. It was pretty much a basic clothing store, clothes all over the place. Either on mannequins or hung up on cloth hangers. Shinji just shrugged and started walking around the store, sometimes stopping to look at some random clothes that he liked. This was pretty new to Shinji, the shopping part wasn't, but this was the first time that he shopped for himself. After walking around for quite a bit he stopped at the 'cool' clothes section. The one where all the baseball caps, bandannas, basketball-shirts and shorts, sneakers and other modern day 'hip' clothes. He didn't know what compelled him to do it, but he started to look through the clothes. He felt fascinated at the seemingly new hobby of his. There was a huge selection of clothes in the section and he had no idea what to get for himself. *Get for myself? I actually plan on buying some of this stuff?!* He thought in shock. He seemed to actually like the idea, so he continued looking through the many racks of clothes. After about twenty minutes of continuous browsing he finally picked out some clothes. A pair of new sneakers. Two NY baseball caps. One black and one red. As a finishing touch he got himself a matching bandanna and fingerless gloves, which were black and had a beautifully done flame on them. He had picked out what he wanted, not that he knew why he did mind you. Now the only problem was payment. *How am I going to pay for all these things?* He wondered. After a full five minutes of thinking it finally hit him. *Wait a second. I'm a NERV agent, or something. I can just send the bill to them!* Happy with his good, but a little mischievous, idea, he went to go find the counter so he could pay for his new clothes. As he found the counter he walked up to it. Near it was sitting a beautiful girl around the age of 18, which was reading a magazine. As Shinji walked closer he started to finally feel a familiar feeling. He was starting to get nervous, very nervous. It took him quite a bit of inside courage to finally got up to the counter and put his chosen clothes on it. When the teenage girl saw the boy just standing there she gave him a curious glance, then she saw the clothes on the counter. She put away the magazine and smiled. "Hi there! Is this what you are buying today?" She asked with a huge smile on her face directed to Shinji. Shinji hesitated slightly in answering, but finally went through with it. "Uhh...Y-yes." The girl quickly browsed through Shinji's choices and then looked at him with another curious glance. "You like these kinds of clothes? No offence, but you don't look like the type of person that cares about wearing popular clothes." Shinji of course didn't take any offence at all. "None taken and no, I don't really follow any of that. I just got some kind of...urge to buy these clothes." He finished lamely, trying to get some backbone. "An urge huh?" The girl smiled. "Well then, to fulfil this urge of yours I'm going to have to make you buy more clothes." Shinji was of course, shocked at this. "W-what? W-why?" He asked her, his voice matching his face. The girl just smiled at his shock and waved a finger in his face. "You only bought the accessories and a pair of shoes. Where's the main stuff? You're really going to need some T's and pants to match this stuff. Not to mention a shirt or two." Before Shinji could object he found himself being dragged by the girl to a place in the store. When they stopped he noted that they were next to the section where he bought the accessories. As Shinji looked at the girl, he saw her looking around for a moment, holding her finger to her chin in thought. Then she slammed her fist into her hand and with a smile quickly dragged Shinji into the section. The next 15 or so minutes seemed blurry to Shinji. He hardly remembered what he and the girl did in the clothes section she had dragged him into. He remembered her quickly picking up many different articles of clothing and putting them against him as if to measure if they would fit. After a while of that he had found himself back at the counter with the girl behind it. Only there was a difference this time. Instead of only a few accessories and shoes, there were also quite a few other clothes in front of him. He didn't even know how many different T-shirt's or pants he had in front of him. He only knew that it was a lot of clothing. Shinji looked at the girl with a questioning look, as if asking if she really wanted him to buy all of this stuff. The girl once again just smiled at him. "Trust me on this one okay? All this will look really good on you! You mix all these clothes in anyway that you like! I'll even give you a discount! Deal?" She kept on smiling through all of this. In fact, her smiled seemed to broaden an inch. *Whoever handles NERV's financial stuff will really hate me after this. And Misato will be none too happy either.* Thought Shinji. He really didn't want to get into any trouble. But for some reason he really, really wanted these clothes. *But what the hey, let's call this a little payback to father.* Shinji really seemed to be growing a spine, a mental one anyway. So without further a due Shinji pulled out his NERV ID card and showed it to the girl. "Could you please send the bill to the NERV agency?" Shinji didn't know why, but as soon as the girl heard this, her smile was replaced by a suspicious look. She started to look the card all over, she even slid it in her Visa receiver a couple of times. After a few moments of investigating the card she couldn't find any sign that it was a fake. With that she smiled again, although not as brightly as before. "Well I can't say that this thing is fake, so I'm going to have to believe you." She seemed troubled for some reason. As if she wanted to ask another question. Shinji didn't know really what was wrong, until he recognized her look. He knew that look, as it had often been pointed at him. "Yes I am a pilot." He said in a monotone voice, knowing exactly what her question was. *I don't know how often I've been asked that by strangers.* "Alright then, I'm sending the check to NERV." The girl said as she slid the card through her computer slot. After that she pushed a few buttons and then printed out a small paper. She then gave Shinji the paper and his card. "Okay then, enjoy your new clothes!" She was smiling again, which made Shinji smile back. "And if you decide to come back, ask for Miruru. Okay?" She wagged her finger at him as she said this. "Thank you very much!" Said Shinji as he gave Miruru a bow. Then before turning to leave he added. "I promise I'll come back to buy some more!" Then he finally left, bag in hand, a happy and carefree smile on his face, for once. -------------------- Universe #389. Also known as the Inu-Yasha Universe... You know those people in the world who you really don't want to meet? Those people that you don't want to associate with? Those people that you definitely don't want to piss off? Once, Inuyasha, the mighty half-demon, fell under that category. Why he didn't anymore you ask? Well, his trip with Kagome and Co. had really changed him. He had loosened quite a bit, gotten revenge for his lost love, gotten himself a few lifelong friends, and fallen in love, although he'd probably never admit the last part. But even with all this, Inuyasha was still a person that you did not want angry at you. Unfortunately, a certain person had totally pissed him off, not to mention slightly injured him, not that he showed it. So there was Inuyasha, sitting on the branch of a huge tree, vocally recalling every insult in he had ever known or heard of. What had happened you ask? Well the half-demon was just minding his own business when... "Ah...so I've found you at last, mister all-powerful half-breed dog-demon." Was what came from a man that stood in the shadows. The only reason Inuyasha could actually see him was because of the bright sun, and because the man's eyes radiated a bright red colour. Inuyasha of course naturally took the greeting for an insult, which it was, and responded in kind. "Who the hell are you?! And what the hell was that supposed to mean?!" His face easily gave away what he felt, anger. "Normally I wouldn't even look at a boorish person such as yourself, but this time I must make and exception." Said the dark-man, not reacting to the half-demon's unsults at all. "I am Denzel, Shadow-Stalker and the IV General of the Abyss. I am here to kill you." Inuyasha gave his usual reaction. "Kill me?! Hah! A guy like you couldn't even touch me before I cut you to a thousand pieces!" Came his most arrogant and angry retort. The guy may have calmed down a lot, but he still was a major hothead. The man kept silent for a few seconds before he giving off a small chuckle. Then he spoke with a calm voice. "Alright then boor, I shall make you a wager. We shall have a little fight. First blade to touch the other's skin wins. Agreed? Inuyasha just gave the man a confident smirk. "Fine, fine. Just don't complain if I accidentally chop off an arm, or a leg." Then the half-breed took out the Tetsusaiga, which grew into a giant fang at Inuyasha's mental and spiritual command. The dark man Denzel seemed to reach into something that resembled a cloak in the shadows. Then he pulled out a long slender, silver coloured blade. It seemed to radiate darkness as much as the man did, but it was still clearly visible. "Well, shall we begin?" The man said, his features slightly changing. Now his lips seemed to form a grin, and his eyes had a dark red colour to them, instead of the earlier bright red. Inuyasha didn't waste the time to answer. He quickly bound towards the man, raising the Tetsusaiga up high, hoping to end this quickly. Unfortunately he didn't receive that privilege. Before he knew it, Denzel was upon him. He felt the Tetsusaiga leave his grasp with a mighty blow from the dark man's blade. And then he was out of sight. Inuyasha quickly picked up his father's sword, and then instantly started to survey the area, hoping to locate his opponent's position. But Denzel was nowhere in sight. Inuyasha couldn't even smell him. "Wondering where I am are you?" Came a voice. He didn't know where it really came from. It seemed to come from every direction. "You should remember to look behind you." As soon as he heard that he instantly turned around, barely managing to deflect a strike that was meant for his head. He saw the man clearly now, as clear as day. The man wore black leather clothes and a black leather cloak donned his back. He also wore a strange hat, which was also black. His red eyes were now visible up close. They seemed to be an abyss of carnage, trying to draw Inuyasha into it. The half-demon would never admit it, but those eyes scared him, they really did. His thoughts were knocked out of him as he parried another blow from the man, then another, and another. The man he was fighting was extremely skilled. He stroke quickly and with power, going for Inuyasha's weak points, exploiting every one of his openings, and using them to his advantage. Inuyasha held his own however, if barely. It was really hard to block each of Denzel's strikes. And the fact that he stroke at openings didn't leave him any room to counter-attack. After a few minutes of this the stress was finally taking its toll on Inuyasha. He was sick and tired of being on the defensive, if he was going to win, he had to attack. *I'll show this bastard what's what!* As soon as he parried another of the dark man's slashes, Inuyasha sprung forward, swinging the Tetsusaiga in a wide arc, aiming for Denzel's neck. This proved to be a big mistake. Before he realized what was really going on, his sword was once again gone, and he had four deep gashes across his chest, gashes that only could have been made by a sword, Denzel's sword. Inuyasha was in total shock. He remembered deflecting Denzel's attack, he remembered striking back. But when or how he was countered, he had no clue. A short, evil chuckle could be heard in the background, hiding in the shadows, echoing in Inuyasha's ears. "You are much weaker than I thought. I have wasted my time fighting you." Said Denzel's dark voice. Then, it completely disappeared. That was what had bothered the half-demon so much. Defeat at the hands of a complete stranger, which wanted to kill him for an unknown reason. But he was used to that. What he was not used to however, was that his opponent was so much more skilled and powerful than he was. He was used to overcoming his enemies in the end, alone or with the help of his friends. But this man...it would take a lot more to defeat him. "No matter what happens, I'll get that bastard for this. I'll show him never to mess with me again!" Was Inuyasha's vow to himself, a vow he meant to see through to the end, no matter what. Authors Notes: Took me long enough, jeez. I think I breezed through the Inuyasha part a bit too fast, oh well. Anyway, people. Yes, you people. I need some help. I've only read the first 12 or so volumes of Inuyasha, so my data on that series is a little limited. If you can help me in anyway, please send me and email, telling of Inuyasha's skills and abilities at the end of the series, and also what happens with Kagome and Co. please. I don't care if I get a bunch of spoilers, nothing new. Thanks a bunch! -Ranshinda@hotmail.com ps. This fic is going on hiatus for a few months, so I can work my other fics.
