Also if you haven't yet voted for some of our treasury funds to put towards a meat platter please do. So simply by giving me a YES or NO to buy a meat platter will do. So far, I only have 7 people FOR. I need a majority to make it pass.
Also, so as to not duplicate dishes to pass, please send me a message as to what you are bringing and I'll put it on the internet and let others know.
Our
last meeting was to take place at the
Our
meeting started at 1:30 PM by our President Mel McKinney with the Pledge of
Allegiance to The Flag.
The first order of business were the outstanding meal bills that were presented by the secretary. Two meals that were for $3.50 and one meal that was for $8.00. Everyone that was there had paid for theirs and so there is a question whether or not it was a mix-up with the diner and their record keeping. Never the less George Smith will get his $15.00 back from our treasury funds if no one comes forward. I could see how easy it could be to mess up on the part of both parties.
Next
the secretary read aloud a note sent by Ken Sosnoski looking for some
decompressors for Rotax 185's. No one had any answers for Ken.
Charles Olbrich from
Our round table review started off with Tom Decker and his plans for developing an in-expensive ultra-light. He said it was coming along fine and he brought us a picture to show us what it might look like. His ideas look great so far and we look forward to the makings of the first prototype.
I had a chance to go over to Tom's place and look at the Neiuport 11 to see how he was doing and I must say it looks great. I may get a chance to drop in again sometime soon because I spend time at my Son's house helping grandma baby sit young Matthew once a week. I also enjoyed looking over his new plans he is drawing up for the prototype.
Also the Ultra-Light Magazine was ordered for Tom Decker to share with the rest of the club members and as soon as it comes in he will bring it to the meetings.
Jim Croisant is looking for a craft and has been interrupted with deer season at this time.
Charles Olbrich, from near Delhi, has 80 hours total flight time and is right now building a CGS Hawk. He is also planning on having a party on his hill sometime next year. He has 25 acres and a 700 foot strip with trees at one end and a cliff at the other end. There is talk about getting together and camping and flying sometime next year, hopefully it won't be as wet as it was this last year.
Mel McKinney told us about Dave Schwartz's cousin who was killed in a Zenair. It was inspected and he got to 200 feet when it went into a side slip, became uncontrollable crashed and burned. He held a Flight Instructor Rating and an A & E Mechanic's license as well. Our condolences to Dave and the grief over his cousin. We also hope his cousin's family can get past this tragedy as well.
Dave
Thomas has been working on his jet engine. It winds up to 125 thousand RPM's. He
is still working on an after burner. It
was a truck turbo. He also talked
about the program on TV called Junkyard.
He also spoke about John Lee who is related to Butch Osterhout who does
stunts with his Easy Rider.
Duane
Ross saw the same stunt done at the Florida Sun And Fun. He has been flying 85
hours this year and has a total of 1060 hours total in an ultra-light.
Lance Bunker has a few craft for sale. He called them
junk. A Weedhopper, MX Quicksilver
and a Heavy Handler 2 seater side-by-side with a Rotax 503.
George
Smith has been flying his Quicksilver and experienced a loose contact to his
battery thinking it may be a bad battery at first but was a poor contact.
He had 12 hours on his 503 Rotax. His
Tom
Botheuser continues to work on his Mini-Max this one will have a closed cockpit.
John
Finn has aluminum cut for his motor mount and is trying to get it in place.
John Sherman is working on his kit J-3 Pup.
Norm Dibble put his craft up for the Winter.
The
meeting had come to an end at around 3 PM. Everyone
enjoyed each other's company and sharing their adventures in small craft flying.
Your Secretary,
Mel Wightman
