Our next gathering will take place at the Greene Airport in Greene , New York on the 18th of this month (October) at noon.  At 12:30 pm will see Paul Muhlig go for his chopper ride in a MASH Helicopter owned by Guy House.  Then due to the fact that the Greene Airport Restaurant (Ramblin Pig) has closed we will proceed to Baron's Inn for a 1 p.m. meal  with the meeting to follow.

I was unable to come to the first part of the meeting so I had Gil take notes for me.  Many Thanks!  There was a total of 13 guys present.  The meeting was at Gil and Liz's home and we thank them for having us.  Jim Croisant our President, was the Master Cook in Charge, thanks Jim for volunteering.  The meeting started at around 1:30 PM just after we paid our respect to the flag of our country.

On November 8th our meeting will be at the Baron's Inn because deer season will be on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

On December 20th our Christmas meeting will take place at Baron's Inn .  Our spouses are to be invited and red roses will be handed out.

Tom Botheuser Is ready to paint his plane.  Someone stole his air compressor to paint with but he managed to do it with another one.  Hi priorities have changed his mission and he has to finish putting another trailer where the old one once was.

Alan Huntley managed to fly a couple of times but for the rest of the time it was too windy to fly.  He also had too much farming to do.

Jim Croisant made a trip with Todd and Art to Elmira to display Art's Para-sail.  It was a successful event.

Duane Ross did some flying, nothing new except the deer are on his runway.

Art Capwell said, thanks for paying his way to Elmira (paying for his gas).  He and Todd had a good time but the gliders were not flying that day.  The weather was not favorable to fly.

Jim Fitzsimmons has been flying a lot - about 45 hours.  While flying at Gil's his hat flew off and went through his prop.  He found it in 3 pieces.  He also lost his expensive digital camera while flying.

Dan Chapman his permanent home is in Mt. Vision above Oneonta (North).   He also has a runway in the making and will be done soon.

Tom Parkhurst has his Recreational Pilot License . He won't be able to fly at night but had to learn everything a Private Pilot had to know.

He took his Kolb by trailer to Gulliver's Air Park .  He had a hard landing but was able to make a few minor repairs and is back flying it again.

William Sethman belongs to Deposit Flying Club at White Birch.  He stopped in just to see how our club is doing.  We were glad to have him visit and hope he'll come again.   There was talk of having a get together with their club sometime.

John Torta spent 2 weeks vacation and got his Flight Star ready to fly.  Now he needs to get his plane in Gil's “A” Field.

Paul Muhlig  His plane is at Downsville and Duane and Gil already test flew it so it is ready to fly.

Norm Dibble said he flew his Kolb for 20 years and enjoyed every moment of it.

Dan Fiske hugged his plane today.  He said a runway on his property will be 3000 feet long by 60 feet wide.  The Gas Company will pay for it.  The Marcellus Pipe Line will run through his property.

George Smith is working on his Savannah Aircraft

Matt Garbett has had 2 weeks vacation and has been working on an attachment to the back end of his garage.  He also has been flying his Cessna 150 and made 2 passes over Gil's runway.

Pete Fish's Plane is now at Jim Fitzsimmons for crow hopping.

Gil Aitchison has been flying now and then with Duane and hasn't done any work on his 2 place lately.  He has been mowing lots of grass and has spent time at his camp at Sandy Pond.  He still has to go up and close the camp for the Winter.

Mel Wightman came in late but did show at the end to see Gil's 2 place aircraft which, by the way, really looks sharp so far.  He was up to his elbows in black top sealer.

Meeting was over at around 3 PM.

        Your Secretary,

            Mel Wightman
