Our next meeting will take place at the Sidney Airport on Sunday October 7th for a pancake breakfast.  They will be serving pancakes from 8 AM to 1 PM.  We will meet for breakfast at 9 AM.  Bring a friend, enjoy the breakfast and the fellowship.   The last I heard the President and Secretary may not be able to make it.   I believe we can get Gil to take some brief notes and a headcount.  If not Gil Maybe Matt will take a headcount.

We met at Husky Haven in South Montrose, Airport.  We had a good turnout with 15 members. Jim Fitzsimmons joined to make it 16.  Congratulations Jim! The 17th was a guest brought by Matt Garbett; Steve Daire.  It is great you could come Steve.  Do come again!

We had pizza and drink instead of the proposed Husky Haven Jambalaya and all the trimmings.  Dave Thomas's Sister-in-law had to go to a wedding that was found out at the last moment.  Maybe next time we can arrange to have a big gathering at Husky Haven with all her goodies.

Our President Jim Croisant started off by our salute to the flag and quickly got into the meeting.  A tentative date of November 10th was set for for the combination of Thanksgiving and Christmas Luncheon at Baron's Inn .  Jim will firm this up and I will send out the word.  Jim said, he would check tomorrow noon for sure. He also said we will need a minimum of 31 so bring your wives and friends and neighbors.  The ladies will get their rose this year too.  We commend Tom Lewis on this nice gesture!

Jim Croisant's Phantom was worked on;  All new fuel lines and other parts like a CHT Gauge.  His intake manifold needs to be turned 180 degrees for better performance.  Put some brakes on her and a few more little things and he'll be ready to crow hop.

Dan Fiske is looking forward to work on his Pegasus.

Duane Ross has been flying a little and has checked out Jim Fitzsimmons field.

Matt Garbett bought a CGS Hawk in North Carolina .  It is now in Chenango Bridge Airport  and has been flying for probably an hour or so.

Steve Daire bought Matt's old airplane and also helped Matt get his Hawk.  He was confronted with a deer on the way home: it messed up his vehicle.  Steve was our guest for the day.

Gil Aitchison His Jabiru is in now so they will need more money.  His engine is in Shelbyville Tenn.

Allen Huntley flew with Gil last Sunday for an hour.

George Smith flew his Quicksilver for one hour.

Lou Palombo wanted to get some chopper time with the instructor at Husky Haven but the instructor wasn't there.  He said to look at cartercopters.com and you'll see videos on autogiros.

Dave Donnora brought his bundle of joy with him; his daughter.   She's a real cutie Dave.  He said his Quicksilver will be SLA soon.  He said he'd been riding his motorcycle a lot.

Jim Fitzsimmons bought the Kolb that use to be Al Osterhouts.  He uses a 430 CC 35 hp Cuyuna engine, (same engine I have for a spare, only mine is a 2SI a later model and new).  Maybe you'd like a spare.  Ask Mel.

Jim Leonard is taking lessons with Tom Lewis, he has been doing crosswinds and touch and goes.

Tom Lewis flew a Hawk at the Wellsboro and said it stalled at 42 MPH.  He also flew to Wellsville Airport in an Air-Bike.  His pant legs were blowing in the wind giving him chills at times.  He wasn't used to flying in the open like that but enjoyed it.

Paul Nulton is now fixed based operator of the Giffin Airport .  He got his Parasol repaired and he'd like someone come out to watch him solo.

Jim Smith joined the university of Air Tom (Lewis that is).  He is eager to learn to fly.

Dave Thomas has been mowing grass he had been sick lately.  He did get a chance to go flying in a Aeronca Champ and he got kicked around in cross wind.

Armand Fish has been flying with Tom and got kicked around in gusty winds.  He also has pontoons for sale for a Quicksilver and a quick sale.

Mel Wightman talked about his camping experience and his trip to Skyhaven with a friend who is going for his SLA

         .

An interesting note to take into consideration:  Five guys have bought aircrafts and are going great guns either flying them or learning to fly.  So our club is growing in flight.   This is something some doubted would happen.  I say FINE BUSINESS!!

Update:  Dave Donnora and Tom Lewis passed their Air Worthiness exam and are now N numbered and worthy of air.

    Your Secretary,

        Mel Wightman
