Our next meeting will take place at Gil and Liz Aitchisons's home in North Fenton on the 20th of September at around noon.  The meal will be supplied by Jim Croisant our President.  I also volunteered to help on the cooking.

Our last meeting took place at Harris Hill at the Soaring Museum and at the airport where gliders were in operation.

We met at Denny's on Front Street , assembled and had breakfast and then headed for Harris Hill for a tour of the museum and our meeting.  This was the one time we skipped lunch.  Many stayed the day and many had their lunch on the way home.  There were 15 of us at this event. Three of our people had rides in gliders.  Jim Croisant,  Megan Croisant and Nancy Lewis.  It was a beautiful day and all had a great time watching aircraft and touring the museum.

Our meeting took place in the basement of the Soaring Museum .  It was a beautiful meeting place with plenty of chairs and a flag in the front near a lectern.  We Pledged to the flag and quickly got into the meeting.  One of the things on the agenda was to talk about Aviation Day which is to take place on September 13th at Harris Hill.  The people at the museum wondered if we could bring a static display of an aircraft.  We talked about it and decided to go through with it.  Jim Croisant, Gil Aitchison,  Art Capwell and his son Todd are planning on going with their Para-Sail.   I had originally planned on going but had to decline because of a year long commitment.   My only hope is that more will try to help them, with the set-up and to display the aircraft under watchful eye.

Old Business - we need to make sure we get Paul Muhlig squared away for his chopper ride,  preferably before cold weather.  If we can't get Kim to fly,  I know of another Pilot and a chopper just like Kim's that lives over the hill from me and I have MEL'S LZ pad already made up for the flight if the need be.   Let us discuss it at our next meeting.

Jim Leonard volunteered his aircraft.  He won't be able to go but his Hawk is for sale - $6,000 for a club member and $6500 for an outsider.   Gil Aitchison has volunteered to drive Jim Leonard's Red Hawk to Harris Hill for part of the display.  It probably would be a good idea to take sandwiches or pick up something on the way to eat around noon or shortly after.

Dave Thomas said, his Affordaplane is for sale for $5,000.  This includes the trailer too.  He has a Rotax 447 with a gearbox on his craft.

The meeting was quickly adjourned and may just be the shortest in the history of our club lasting a total of 32 minutes.

        Meeting closed at 1:32 pm.

        Your Secretary,

            Mel Wightman
