Our next meeting is going to be on Sunday the 17th of September at White
Birch. We'll go early for breakfast
so be their by around 9:30 AM and we’ll have our meeting there after
breakfast. This is really a first and probably won't be that way again for
a long time. Everyone thought that maybe if it we're on a Sunday they
would fly given a nice day. I imagine that if we meet early we'll be
able to depart early for our family gatherings.
There were 15 of us present at this last meeting at Husky Haven, two which were our honorary wives. Our chief cook was Judy Thomas. She was also in our count and boy did she ever have a feast for us. We had potato salad, barbeque chicken, soda, coffee, jumbolia, beans and more. Everyone enjoyed the meal and no one left hungry. The chicken was really exceptional. Many thanks to Dave Thomas for setting this up with his sister-in-law for the meal.
Our President Jim Croisant started the meeting with the American Flag and we gave the pledge of allegiance.
We talked about our trip to Rhinebeck and how successful it was. Jim spoke
about going to the Harris Hill, the
Gil saw Bill Brown and said he has his CGS Hawk for sale for $5,000. It

Mel McKinney hadn't flown since the last meeting because his craft was in the flood and he has to check out his engine and craft. However he did fly Dave Donnora’s Aerolite and thus obtained his flight fix for the month.
Charles Olbrich didn't fly. He spent too much time trying to keep the lawn mowed.
George Smith did get a chance to fly his quicksilver and he changed out his fuel lines on it.
Al Osterhout hasn't been flying but he has been selling Ray Osterhout's
aircraft. He sold Ray's parachute craft. All that is left is his
Mike Northrup is selling his Mini-Max and trailer for $5,000.
Dave Donnora has his Aerolite for sale. He has flown it several times since the last meeting. He is selling the craft and trailer for $7,500. He and his wife are expecting a child they are both excited over being a future mom and dad.
Dave Thomas has got around 12 to 15 hours of time on his Affordaplane. He also gave us a demo and did real well flying on that very somber day. He thought he was going to have to land her dead stick one day when the engine was acting up. He saw gas come out of the engine so he pushed the throttle in and was able to make it back to Husky Haven. He has since rebuilt the engine.
Jim Croisant finished painting his axle and put it back on the plane. Jim also mentioned how he would like to update the pictures of our latest projects and have them put into our web.
Allen Huntley has been getting his C-150 ready to paint.
The meeting ended at about 3 Pm.

Mel Wightman
