Our next meeting will take place on July 21st, we will meet in Elmira at a Denny's at 10:00AM for breakfast on our way to Hammondsport to the Glenn Curtis Airplane Museum .  We should arrive around 12 noon at the museum and probably stay for at least 2 to 4 hours only guessing, before leaving for home.  We may stop on the way back home for a meal but we haven't confirmed as to where.  Originally we thought we could make both stops the Museum in Hammondsport and the Glider Museum in Elmira .  In discussing it further a unanimous vote was made to only do one exhibit for now which will be the Curtis Museum.  The Glider Museum will take place later in the year or possibly next year.  The discussion on how many drivers and who is going with whom has not been worked out fully.

Our June meeting took place at Gil & Liz's place in North Fenton .  The food was supplied by our president Jim Croisant - plenty of hot dogs and hamburgs.  We had a total of 17 people show and 16 for the meeting.  Matt Garbett had another meeting to go to, the QB's at Chenango Bridge .  I was invited to go but knew I would be too busy with the minutes and helping with loose ends at the ultralight meeting.

Many thanks to Gil and Liz for allowing us to use their home for the meeting.  Also a thank you to our President Jim Croisant who bought the food for our meal.

Our meeting had started at 1:09 PM with Jim Croisant Our President and the flag of our country.

OLD Business discussing our trip to Hammondsport ( Glenn Curtis Museum ) as mentioned above.

It was determined that we meet at Gil Aitchison's home in August.  Next time, it will be Armand P. Fish Sr. to supply the food for our August meeting.  Thanks for volunteering Armand.

Treasure' Report was $1,111.60 by Gil Aitchison.

Dan Fisk is interested in the Pegasus that is owned by Ray Osterhout in Windsor .  He also enjoyed the Pig Roast in East Meredith at Charlie Obricht's home he said, it was a huge success.

Mel Wightman said, I have to buy a new car.  This may delay my airplane purchase.

Tom Botheuser said, his Mini Max is ready for paint.  He's hoping it will fly this year.  He was having well problems and was out of water for 2 months.

Pat Ryan, (a visitor) from New Jersey , now lives in Greene, wants to get back into flying he has logged over 350 hours so far and 16 hours in a Cub. He had to slow down a little because he's putting his son through college.

Charles Olbricht's Roast Pig picnic was a complete success.  Around Columbus Day he said, there may be more activities, but he is not sure what yet.  He is looking for an ELT for his craft.

Lou Palombo Went to the Outer Banks and visited Kitty Hawk where the wright Brothers flew.

He saw Cubcrafters on a May Day celebration in Valdes.  One took off in 21 feet.  He knows of a Kitfox 1 for sale for 10,000 dollars.  He got in it but had a problem getting out, he was afraid he'd have to wear it.  The craft had a 503 engine.

Frank Snyder is looking for an altimeter.

George Smith got his hanger door fixed and played with his Quicksilver at Downsville Airport .

Paul Mulhig has been working on his Hawk doors and he has been flying with an instructor and just having a ball!

Gil Aitchison has been flying with Duane, building his new hanger and has been getting ready for us to come and enjoy his airport facilities.

Duane Ross went flying with Gil.  He got his chipmunk population down pretty good.

Dave Thomas has been doing a lot of mowing at Husky Haven.  It has been too windy to fly.  He did get to fly with the mechanic in the 7AC Champ.

Bob Johnson helped around in his wife's business Ice Cream Store in Sidney , New York .  He wants to go do some flying and will participate in the air show controlling crowds on the 29th and 30th at Link Field.

Jim Leonard flew with Tom Lewis in his aircraft (LSA) at Husky Haven and really enjoyed flight.

Tom Lewis knows of a 701 aircraft for sale that was built by Elmer Zaverton.  It’s a Zenith STOL.  He went up with Dave Donnora in his Quicksilver.  Tom is taking his engine to Indiana to have it rebuilt he had 350 hours on it and that'sTBO.

Tom reported on a helicopter ride.  It costs 280 dollars per hour or 140 a half hour.  The idea is for a person to get a chance to ride in a chopper with Kim for a half hour or an hour whichever we decide.  The names of the people will be put into a hat for a year and if you come every meeting your name can be put into the hat 12 times giving yourself an edge on everyone else for the ride.  If you only come a few times to the meeting your chances of winning are not as great, naturally.  So try to make it at every meeting and increase your chances to have your name picked to win a ride in a helicopter.

Armand P, Fish Sr. had bought a Quicksilver without an elevator.  He bought another one and shared some experiences with us on his flight.  He managed to get up slightly but was unable to maintain altitude and has some parts to replace on his ultralight.  He decided he better go get some flying lessons before he hurts himself.

Jim Croisant pulled the rope on his 503 on the Phantom but was unable to get her to start.  He also had his runway mowed off for an airport.

Dave Donnora is looking for a 68 inch prop with a 30 inch pitch.  I don't think it hit a coconut tree. Dave was unable to make it to this meeting.

When we find out for sure who is driving I will forward the info to you and then you make arrangements to ride etc.

    Your Secretary,

        Mel Wightman
