Our next meeting will take place at Gil and Liz's place in North Fenton on Saturday the 16th of June at 12 noon.  Bring a friend or a neighbor and enjoy the meeting.  If it is good weather there is bound to be some flying take place if not the food and fellowship will be there.  Jim Croisant will bring the food and if it is burgers and hot dogs yours truly will help in the cooking.

 

    Directions to Gil's & Liz's Home:

 

    Get on route 12 out of Binghamton or North Front Street to Chenango Forks,  go through Chenango Forks, make sure you go over the Rail Road tracks then over the Bridge and bear left on to Route 79 go past the Candle Factory which will be probably another 3 to 5 miles (guessing) and take the second road to the left - Babcock Road.  Then take the first left - Palmiter Road – and look for number 416 on the maibox.  Gil will probably have a streamer on the mailbox.  If you get lost call 607-656-5443 (Gil's house). Also look for a wind sock on top of his house.

 

    From Harpursville or Windsor pick up Route 79 and head through Harpursville, towards  the Candle Factory but don't go by it.  Pick up Babcock Road which will be on your right, and take Palmiter Road  - the next left - to 416 which is Gil's place.  Also Look for a wind sock on top of his house,

 

    Everyone met at Husky Haven Airport in South Montrose last month.  We had a total of 18 people there including our snow bird and News Publisher Manager from Florida , Tom Lewis.  Glad to see you back with us Tom.   Dave Thomas supplied us with Pizza and soda and coffee.  Everyone got Pizza full and we went into the meeting at around 1:30 PM.

 

    Jim Croisant our Club President, got the ball rolling by,giving the pledge of allegiance to our flag.

 

    Old Business: A trip to Curtis Museum in Hammondsport and Soaring Club in Elmira . The cost by way of the group rate per person would be about 6 dollars.   The club agreed to pay for the guys but then the guys will pay for their wives fare.  Jim our president is still working out all the details and I imagine more will be explained to us in this next meeting.

    Tom Lewis is building a new home in Tarpon Springs it is costing him 50 dollars per hour to have it built.  He had to go back to Fla. for some unfinished business but would be back in time for the newsletter publishing. 

 

    Dan Fiske wants to do some flying and also wants to see some of our old videos.

 

    Paul Nulton has too much work and wants to get back into flying.  He was talking about the days of the Easy Rider that he flew.  How much different it flew from the 3 axis craft that he later had - his Parasol.  He had to use his feet for brakes for the Easy Rider.

 

    Lance Bunker hasn't done too much but is looking for a place to build aircraft.

 

    Norman Dibble has his plane and trailer for sale - no price at this time.

 

    Dave Thomas has been working on special projects.  He has been working on his aircraft and says it is purring like a kitty.  Also he says his sister-in-law will cook some more of that Cajun Jumboliah that she has in the past.

 

    Paul Muhlig has had to deal with a lot of family illness and hasn't had the time to work on his craft.

 

    Matt Garbett went to the Sun & Fun and bought a demo ride in an Adventura Sea Plane 60 mph water handling.  He said half the time they didn't do any flying they were chasing jet skis.

 

    George Smith put a new door on his hanger and he also put all new wires on his Quicksilver.  His work on the Savannah has slowed down but he is very close to getting it in the air.

 

    Alan Huntley has put in a couple of hours on his Hawk but the rest of the time has been spent working his farm.

 

    Duane has put in 12 hours in so far this year and has been busy getting rid of chipmunks.  He had to resort from the 22 to no.6 shot with the old 12 gauge.

 

    Mel McKinney has his Woody Pusher up for sale.  His home has been condemned from the flood but he is living in it anyway until something can be done.  Mel said Dave Schwartz is still working on Purple.

 

    Charles Olbrich broke his re-coil spring on his starter.  I helped him advertise for his Pig Roast on the first weekend of June.   I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to go.  I hope some were able to.   He did a lot of work for it and we hope he had a good turn out.

 

    Jim Leonard has been doing a lot of Commercial flying on the airlines.  He had talked to some Commercial  Pilots and is ready for some flying.

 

    Jim Croisant says his Phantom is going to be in the air soon.  He is getting very close......

 

    Mel Wightman is interested in 7AC Champs and Cessna 150's.  I had just got back from Long Beach Island for a short vacation.

 

    Tom Lewis is investigating the idea of a Helicopter ride raffle, he is still investigating the amount per hour and etc.
