The next meeting will be held at Tom Hettig’s on March 20th.  The meeting was to be held at the Masonic Lodge in Windsor , but it had to be called off as the Lodge is still under repair due to flooding.

Mel Wightman will supply the food for the March meeting.

We want to make plans for an April prime rib and chicken dinner at the lodge.   The work should be done by that time at the lodge.  This will be the 17th of April for the dinner and again I'm guessing probably it will be 5 or 6 PM in the evening.

We met at Tom and Jill Hettig's place in Windsor off Anne's Road.   We Thank them again for allowing us to have our meeting in where it was nice and warm with plenty of chairs and tables and we especially enjoyed their hospitality.

We had a total of 19 guys come to share in the event and no one was able to fly in on account of the weather conditions.  That will soon change and the green grass will eventually appear.  These last few days of over 50 degree days has been a big boost for all of us.  The snow has lasted too long and it is time for some good flying weather.  One great sign for sure is that the geese are flying North this is encouraging because that means Spring is just around the corner.

Many thanks to Al Osterhout for the pizza and chicken wings everyone had more than enough, it was great!

Our meeting started at around 1 PM as we started by giving the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

I started the meeting by reading an e-mail from Chris Euchenhofer who is the president of the Tri-Cities Pilots Association at Tri-Cities Airport .  He said, their Aviation Day will be on August 14th and has asked that some of the Ultra-Light Pilots to fly in.  Some discussion was made on this issue and some agreed they might be able to participate.  If we have one of the aircraft with a VHF radio frequency of 122.8 to lead them in that would be helpful.  We must use vigilance because the FAA will be there.  I guess that means we'll have to be extra careful and not arouse any suspicions.   I think if we be careful and land on the grass and use extreme caution on landing etc. you should be ok. The FAA will have a flight seminar in the morning and there will be a Chicken Bar-B-Q at noon.  Just make sure you do a real good pre-flight on the weather and your crafts and you shouldn't have any problems.  The FAA will probably turn their backs on many issues as longs everyone flies safe.

Some general information: I've just received info on the Broome County Aviation Day.  It will be on the 10th and the 11th of July.  Dennis Moulton is on the Advisory Board and may be able to use more people to help in crowd control.  This will mean a free meal and a free ticket so if you are interested call him on 765-2225 daytime and 655-3425 evenings.  Also if you want to use e-mail [email protected] please do so.

We had our round table talk which was very interesting as usual.  Ray Osterhout is selling his Pegasis at the best price above $8,000. If you want to know anymore on the craft please call Al Osterhout for details.

Tom Hettig's project was in the garage and it looks like it will fly.

Dave Thomas is building a jet engine to put on a lawn mower it sounds like he'll give Tim the tool man a go for his money.

Don Goodrich has a CGS Hawk for sale for $5000.00 it has always been garaged approximately 1980 - 83 model the colors are black orange and yellow.

Sidney breakfast at the airport will start in April, I believe it will be on Sunday mornings.

Gill Aitchison has been busy fabricating his Hawk and is almost through with the re-covering.

Lance Bunker needs to have mail from the club his address is 187 Dilly Road Port Crane , NY 13833 please add this to the list.  His e-mail is [email protected]

Most everyone else has been fighting the snow and wishing for Spring's arrival including yours truly.

The meeting was adjourned at 2 PM and everyone had left by around 3 PM.

            Your Secretary, Mel Wightman
