Our next meeting will be on the 15th of January at the Baron's Inn in Greene , New York at 11:30 AM.  They assured me they will accommodate us and she took down my phone number in case there would be a problem.

We had a good attendance at John Finn's home on the 18th of December; there were 15 pilots and 4 women.  The ladies had to prepare for Christmas so many couldn't come.  We had plenty of food to pass quite a spread and very good Christmas meal put on by our ladies.

Many thanks to John Finn for the use of his home for our club and the Christmas Party.

The meeting started shortly after the feast with the pledge of allegiance to the flag led by Mel Wightman.

Our treasurer's report was given by Gil Aitchison $1053.50 plus anther $100 taken in during the gathering.

The Secretary didn't write down any notes this time as he took off for Christmas.  He however does remember a couple of facts and will make sure everyone will get something to read.

John Moody 61 (Father Of Ultralight Aviation Hurt In Mishap) had been injured bad in his Ultralight (Easy Riser.  He was in the hospital and had no insurance what-so-ever.  A plight was given to all the ultralighters in the USUA Magazine to help him with his medical expenses.  Our club sent $25.00 to him.  Al Osterhout who is a cousin to John Moody did not know about this incident until I contacted him.  He has since sent him money to help him with the expenses.  John went through his act; the Air Boss shot the wheels off and killed his engine with a shot gun and John somehow was too high and got on the wrong side of the power curve and lost it.  He was suppose to land on his feet and be able to walk away but instead stalled out hitting very hard on his feet fracturing both ankles and both hips also fractured other parts of the anatomy.  John, according to Al, was writing a thank you to our club when he called him.  He is convalescing at home and is in a wheel chair.  His wife is unable to work because John needs 24 - 7 care.  Al got him introduced to aviation 30 years ago and thus, John got the bug.  This was the case where he and his wife could risk it by not buying any insurance and still be able to profit by the show.   They lost and now they are both suffering big time.  They may even lose their home.  Isn't that usually the case; if you buy insurance mishaps don't usually happen but just once try to take a risk and then your in trouble.  We could possibly donate more,  what do you think guys??

JUST IN CASE SOME OF YOU MIGHT WANT TO HELP OUT A FELLOW HUMBLE AVIATOR........

    His Address is:  John Moody, 1015 Lochmont Dr. , Brandon , Fl. 33511.  His phone no. is 1-813 - 685 - 2718.

If you haven't yet paid your dues for the ensuing year please do, our treasure will see to it you will be dully recorded.

Other info:  Ray's Pegasus is still for sale.

Al's CGS Hawk is still for sale.

The meeting was kept short because we felt the wives would be bored with the business of flying and we didn't really want them to know all the things we do anyway right?

Have a Happy New Year Every One!!    Start the year out right by bringing a friend at the next meeting.....

        Your Secretary,

            Mel Wightman
