Age: 16 Eyes: Brown Hair: Blueish/Black Clothing: Usually a dress and blouse. Akane Tendou is the youngest child of Soun Tendou. She is medium slightly athletic build, with blueish/black short hair. She is one of the heirs to the Tendou dojo, Where she trains and lives with her father and her sisters (Kasumi and Nabiki) . When Akane was very young the Tendous suffered a huge personal loss with the death of Akane's mother. Because of that Akane was never really taught things a woman usually knows how to do. Akane grew up getting into alot of fights and perfecting her martial arts to the best of her ability. Most kids her age at the time thought that she was so much like a boy because of her short hair cut and her behavior. The result of that childhood was a girl with a short,explosive temper, deadly cooking and a slightly boyish figure. While she is not as fashinable or conservitive as her sisters She is still VERY attractive. However, Despite what she projected on the outside, Akane is indeed a girl, witht he feelings of a girl. Despite her reputation to be the cutest girl at furinkan high school, She hates all men for their repeated attempts to go after her. This was evident when her 'main' suitor Tatekwaki Kunou declared that whoever defeated Akane in battle would be allowed to date her. That meant everyday at school Akane was attacked by at least fifty guys who wanted to beat her to date her. When Akane turned 16 her life took a new turn, She was engaged (unwillingly) to her father's friend's son Ranma Saotome. In order to ensure that then Tendou dojo and then anything goes school of martial arts were ensured. Akane's sisters obviously thought thet this match was perfect, since Akane hated boys and here was a boy (Ranma) who could change into a girl. Akane was furious to be engaged to an obvious pervert and jerk. However from the first day, Ranma seemed to help her. For example Ranma was able to discourage all of her suitors when he defeated Kunou in a fight. Akane was secretly grateful for that. But when another fight between Ranma and his archrival Ryouga Hibiki cost her the hair she had worked so hard to grow out for Dr.Tofu (Her first crush) She was furious. Akane has gotten over her feelings for Dr.Tofu and since then has kept her hair cut short. It's true that alot of guys are still after her love (Ryouga, Kunou, Gosunkugi) It's true Akane still fights to get rid of some of them and though she won't admit it She does have developing feelings for Ranma. There have been many a time when Akane have been on the verge of telling Ranma what she really feels, but she is always interrupted with something different. The rest of the time, she denies any feelings for Ranma. She can become jealous and angry, especially when Ukyou, Shampoo or kodachi are around Ranma. She usually ends up hitting him alot when this happends.. But even when she gets angry she does have a femine side to her. Her favorite posession is her pet pigglet P-chan Style: Anything-Goes Martial Arts (Tendo school) Strengths: Akane has a lot of brute strength and raw power, which she uses mostly to beat up Ranma. She is also a very determined fighter, willing to train and learn more toward becoming a better martial artist. Akane is the martial artist who probably puts the most effort in her training, when the need arises. Her potential is quite high, as some of the stories in the manga have shown. On the level of "regular" martial artists, Akane has no rival, and is able to take down multiple opponents fairly easily. Weaknesses: To put it plainly, Akane just doesn't have the skill that any of the others do. Akane knows only the basics of the Anything-Goes style, and has not learned any special techniques as of yet. Her normal attacks are usually useless against other people such as Shampoo, Ranma, and others. However, as mentioned above, there is still a potential for her to learn those techniques. Special Techniques: Dual Jet Stream Raging Waters Attack Used in conjunction with Ranma, this technique involves Ranma and Akane locking arms back to back and flipping each other over, repeatedly kicking all the way. The technique ends with Ranma and Akane shooting up like a jet stream of water and kicking the opponent hard on the way down. Hammerspace Attack: Akane has a hidden, natural talent for pulling bludgeoning objects (hammers, mallets, clubs, etc.) out of nowhere and using them against people she is angry at (most of the time, it's Ranma). As Akane seems to do this unconsciously, there has not been any indication of how it actually works. Ranma/Akane Hiryu Shoten Ha Revised Attack Another combo attack that Akane used with Ranma. The technique goes as follows: Ranma uses his Hiryu Shoten Ha technique, shooting it horizontally. Akane then uses the momentum of the technique to fly in and take out the opposition. This technique was used against Kurumi and Natsume, two sisters who had taken the Tendo dojo away from Akane and Ranma. |
