Magic Knight Rayearth is the story of three girls named Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu whose schools (they go to different high schools) go to Tokyo Tower for a field trip. When their there, they get called into another world by Princess Emeraude, who needs their help.
There they meet a wizard named Guru Clef and he gives them their powers, and now the have to fight demons, and other evil to safe the princess from Zegato.
On the journey the three become best friends, and will do anything for each other.
