Welcome to the 2nd Ranger RECRUITMENT STATION
At ease, Civilian! So you have taken a look around and are interested in becoming a WW II re-enactment soldier. And perhaps you have had this interest for a while now, and looked curiously at other re-enactment groups. Isn't it ironic that you are at the recruitment desk of the Rangers. The 2nd Ranger Battalion is a re-enactment group that takes pride in its authenticity and attention to detail. In the 2nd Rangers, you will find many men, just like you, interested in achieving an accurate historical impression of the elite soldier during the ETO of World War II. Members of Fox Company will assist you in finding this impression. You will be proud of the way you will look and feel. We will be proud to have you by our side.
1. Must be willing to make a commitment of time and money to achieve an accurate historical impression. Not the cheapest hobby, but definately a satisfactory one. For an idea on cost, look at the Equipment page and shop online via our Links page. 2. Follow orders through the chain of command. Without order, there is chaos. Rangers do not know chaos. 3. Conform to period military grooming standards, including facial hair, during events. Hair is to be cut short on sides and back, and trimmed from ears. Hair is to be 1/2" length starting at cap band line, to 3/8" - 1/4" at neck. Side burns are to be no lower than 1'4" past beginning of ear. A good basic GI cut. Mustaches are to be trimmed 1/4" from nose and 1/8" from lip crown. Moustache ends where the mouth begins. The rest of the face is clean shaved. 4. Be 18 years or older, and a responsible adult. We handle authentic weapons of WWII issue. We want our members to build great memories, not be a casualty of one. 5. Be mentally sound and physically fit. The original Rangers were put through many rigorous tests. In the spirit of these Rangers, and to ensure they are soundly illustrated, F Company of the 2nd Rangers is actively involved in exercises designed to improve each member's representation of the WWII master US infantryman.
