The Dark and Bloody Ground
Episode Three:
Secrets
Saul is sideswiped while on patrol. The group involved take him, at gunpoint, to a warehouse and he is met by Colonel McPherson. Turns out Saul is a member of the Initiative. While technically AWOL, The Colonel seems more concerned with the whereabouts of Goodes supervisor, Agent Cobb. After a brief interogation, Goode is left to his own resources, and escapes. His escape seems easy as though the Initiative wasnt interested in really keeping him, although they did take his badge and weapons.
Meanwhile, Josh has a disturbing nightmare where hes in a different dimension and being chased by demons. He manages to dive through a portal just before one of the demons reaches him. The demon is cut in two and Josh wakes up in a cold sweat. However, the other demon is shown in his own dimension scrying through Joshs eyes.
After her visit from Uncle Whistler, Astrid has come to realize that something is building to a head in Murfreesboro and she has been charged with helping to protect Middle Tennessee. Hooking up with Josh and Stephanie, on assignment to find her Sergeant who hasnt been seen since the Vermuscas was believed to have killed him two weeks earlier, the three heroes head to the nearby town of Manchester.
While searching Sergeant Davis cabin, the trio meets up with a tough old Cherokee named Jim Panahoc. It seems as though the Sarge managed to escape the Vermuscas but had went a bit crazy. For the last couple of weeks he has been hiding out in the deep woods where he has already managed to kill a couple of unearthly creatures. In his paranoid state he attacked the elderly Indian, but bit of more than he could chew. Jim tied him up and when Stephanie came looking, Jim handed him over. Making cryptic remarks about Astrid and something coming, Jim left the group and went back into his woods.
Also, Breanna is seen visiting an old warehouse, where Professor Wingate has been making improvements on his leg harness, it seems as though he is building an entire cybernetic body - in fact, evidence suggests that Leroy may actually be a robot or cyborg.
The last scene shows Prof. Wingates lab. Hearing the door open behind him, the Professor turns around expecting to see Breanna, but reacts with horror to something off-screen.
