Leroy Lanks
Leroy Lanks is a sophomore at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tn. His major is Biology, specializing in Zoology and his plans are to become a Veterinarian.
Leroy is the youngest of three children and was raised on a farm in Kentucky. His mother died when he was fourteen of pneumonia. He had an older brother, Henry, who died of cancer. His sister, Sophia, and his father, Henry senior, still live in Kentucky.
At the end of his Freshman year, Leroy was approached by his Advisor, Professor Nathan Wingate, to assist him in the design of a harness to assist the disabled. Prof. Wingate selected Leroy because of his athletic build and extreme musculature, Leroy was to be used as a model for the harness' movement.
Over the summer, Professor Wingate, with the help of his lab assistant Breanna Carwell and Leroy completed the leg harness and right before fall classes began they had a test run for some potential buyers.

While in negotiations after the showing, Prof. Wingate came to the realization that the Buyers were actually Government agents. Refusing to sale his invention for military uses, the Professor ended the discussion. Later that evening, the two agents came back to aquire the Harness, by force if necessary. Prof. Wingate, still wearing the Harness, attempted to escape after purging his computers of all relevent data. During the struggle, Leroy was shot in the chest while saving the Professor. The Professor managed to escape and take Leroy with him.
The next Monday, Leroy was on time for his first class - apparently uninjured!
Over the next few days and weeks, Leroy realized that something was very different. He was far stronger, faster and tougher than he had ever been. In fact, he was perhaps too strong. During boxing practice, Leroy hurt his sparing partner. He also hurt a friend throwing a football around.
Becoming friends with some other students, Leroy discovered. . .to his extreme joy, that there was a dark side of reality - monsters, demons and vampires existed right in this quite little college town. With his new-found strength Leroy dropped his Boxing Scholarship and started patroling the city.
It was eventually revealed that Leroy was a cyborg - a discovery made when Leroy woke up and found himself pluged into the wall, recharging.
Leroy has since gone on to get a job on Campus as a nightime security guard. In this capacity, he is able to make money, guard against monsters and still attend classes on a part-time basis for free.
Over Valentine's day, Leroy went home to see his ailing father. While there he discovered that a couple of vampires were draining the town nightly. Leroy was able to kill them and save his father and sister. He also has become aware of some odd happenings concerning his supposedly dead brother.
