| First a little history: | ||||
| 0001c. - A bearded wise man travels across what will one day be called the Americas, outlawing blood sacrifices and creating a group to fight The Night-Goers. He brings some of these heroes to what will become Tennessee to guard a Hellmouth. - A Stone Fortification is built in present day Manchester Tennessee by unknown people - possibly connected to the battle against the Night Goers. 1000c. - Humans arrive in Tana-see (The Meeting Place). They would later become known as the Cherokee Indian Nation. 1005 - A Native American village is burned to the ground near what is to become Manchester Tennessee. Nearby, the large stone fortress is sealed and covered by slabs of rock for unknown reasons. 1170 - Prince Madoc Ab Owain Gwynedd (Modok to the Native Americans) of Wales lands at Mobile Bay at the end of the Alabama River, heads northeast along the River and tries to settle in present day Tennessee - encountering many dangers - For unknown reasons he created several large fortifications, much stronger than needed against Natives. He and his followers disappear from one such fortress without a trace. 1700s. - Daniel Boone is sent to find suitable land beyond the Appalachians. He refers to what becomes Middle Tennessee as Transylvania (The Land Beyond the Forest). 1775 - (March) - Near the Watauga River in East Tennessee, a group of settlers (including Daniel Boon) were gathered at the call of Judge Richard Henderson. Henderson formed the Transylvania Land Company and invited the Cherokees to a council. Dragging Canoe, son of Chief Attakullakulla, denounced his father and all others who would sell, saying of the land purchase "The land you buy looks fair, but there is a cloud hanging over it. It is a Dark and Bloody Ground." 1798 - Several tribes of Cherokee are forced to give land - including Black Oak Ridge - to white homesteaders. 1803 - Murfreesboro established. 1838 - Tennessee removed by force of arms some 14,000 Native Americans from their mountains and valleys and rivers along a route where so many died that it became known as the Trail of Tears. 1860's - Civil War - An estimated 100,000 people died in Tennessee directly contributable to the war. 1943 (February 2) - Ground is broken for the two billion dollar �Clinton Laboratories�, at a place called the Black Oak Ridge --later Oak Ridge in Tennessee- Code named Y-12. Questions and rumors are forbidden. It utilizes 20% more power than New York City. Creating the first Atomic bomb and by the 1950�s specializes in radioactive isotopes. 1980c - Y-12 Laboratories embarked on a program of biological research |

| The Inferno - The happening place in The 'Boro. A great place to visit, grab a few beers,and watch the game. Plus the owner is a babe and she always knows your name. . .and your favorite drink. . .and lot's of other stuff. Old Stone Fort - Actually in nearby Manchester. A large stone fortress built thousands of years ago - during a time that no one is supposed to have lived anywhere around here. Middle Tennessee State University - The basis of Murfreesboro's economy. A University of over 40,000 students. Lot's of interesting people and weird experiments. Stones River Historic Battlefield - A famous battleground and supposed sightings of ghosts and Ole Green Eyes abound. Cemeteries - There are over 60 cemeteries within 10 miles of Murfreesboro. A good place for quite visitations of loved ones, plenty of historical interests, a fascinating place for charcoal rubbings. Not to mention a great place to get a good work out after dark. |
